A perfectly fine punk album. Nothing memorable.

A few hits, mostly misses. 20-year old dude garage band vibe, definitely not my thing (now, or back then). Lyrics are trash, melodically a little better. DNF most songs

Had me at Introduction. Lost me at Hazy Jane II. Had me again at the Chimes of a City Clock. Lost me again at… what a roller coaster. I have to let this one sit. May revisit it or other Nick Drake catalog. Love his voice.

A poor man’s Bowie+Leonard Cohen. Post-punk, 1986 release, but I’ve never heard of it. Liked it, would listen again. Why is this album recommended instead of 1983 Soul Mining album?

LOVE this rap album! Political and some songs justifiably angry, but without being obscene and disrespecting women. Art rap, not gangsta rap. Acknowledges history. Lyrics are smart and creative. Some songs have a cool 70s vibe. Harmonizing with a range of voices. And there’s a flute!

70’s…what?…rock jazz experimental. Not my jam.

I don’t know, an ethereal Sheryl Crow? Not digging the music enough to pay attention to the lyrics.

I’ve aged out of this sound and message, and it wasn’t much my jam back in the day because my 20’s was spent as it was. If I’d had the single and college experience, I would have likely loved this. In another life…

No. WTF??

Joni Mitchell is an icon. Her voice, her song writing. This album is both timeless and dated. The first few songs definitely reflect the language and attitude of their time. River and A Case of You are timeless however. As a side note, River and This Flight Tonight might as well be anthems for the Avoidant communicator

A 1970s male political album that does not stand up to the test of time. Empty Chairs is…problematic. Everybody Loves Me, Baby is political satire that would have been celebrated by 1970’s hippie culture, but in 2025 during Trump’s and the billionaire class take down of democracy, it’s just ironic that this song came from someone of the generation that caused the current state. The Grave is heartbreaking but not remembered when it should be. Babylon, also problematic for different reasons. The day this music died has long passed.
