The music arrangements are stripped back and soothing. Pleasant vocals. What you would expect from a Simon and Garfunkel album. Couple of tracks were moving but the majority of the album was nothing to talk about. Mrs Robinson is overplayed. The Zoo song was corny af. 6/10
Really nice drum solos in tracks and the bass in some songs slapped. This coming out in 1969 would have blown some minds. "Whole lotta love" that break down with the rides were cool. These riffs are so dated in 2025 but can understand the significance for the time. Loved when they were getting in touch with more experimental side of things but all the riffs were sounding the same to me. The blues were cool. Would rather here a black guy singing those melodies in those tracks. "Moby Dick" was my favourite track with the transition into "Bringing it Home". Would be into Hendrix more if I lived in 1969 or maybe The Doors. There are better Zeppelin albums IMO. 6/10
Sheeesh Stevie! I never listened to this whole album before. I just knew the hits but Damn son, this album is all just bangers! Shut up and take my money baby. Like seriously, how can an album come out in 1976 and just stand the test of time. Like I'm here in 2025 just absolutely blown away by this. I had no idea that Coolio's "Gangsters Paradise" was a sample from this. Like I wasn't even bored once and this is his 18th album too. Like settle down mate. We get it, You're a genius. This is why I signed up for this in the first place. I'm getting this on Vinyl. 5 stars!
Portishead was one of the bands where I would always say to myself I would listen to them but never get around to it. So when I "had to" listen to this album I had no expectations and WOW I should have listed to this sooner. Just sexy, smokey, spooky. Arrangements are so smooth. Great production. Love the different textures. Vocals are nice too. Good album. Would listen to it again on a cold, slow and rainy day.
I personally like Queen when they lean more on their experimental side. But in saying all that this is a fun album. I love freddie's voice and always have a soft spot for Queen.
Love anything from the Cash man
Cool early punk album. Some nice tracks. Love his voice and delivery. Album is a bit long for my liking. Some tracks were just filler.
Good album to have on in the background. Cool sounds and textures. Love a little D'n'B here and there.
What can I say? This album is full of bangers. No skips necessary. Radiohead just know how to write songs. Thom Yorke's voice is just *Chefs Kiss* and the musical arrangements just hit the spot.
Shucks Shuggie! Loved this album! So many songs that went down soo well. Really good to study to in the background. So much texture and depth.
Came in with an open mind but this album really wasn't for me. Vega seems talented but nothing really hooked me in.
Can really appreciate this album and love Bowie. Would I listen to this on the regular? No I wouldn't but can acknowledge the narrative and work that has gone into it as his goodbye letter to the world. What an artist!
This album was enjoyable. Full of energy. Some good tracks on here. The lead singers voice was mad. 90s poppy, grungy goodness.
Didn't know what to expect. This album was so haunting and fun. I like this band.
When this hits, it hits.. but when it doesn't hit, it's really doesn't. There is some awesome elements to it but there are some songs where it comes across really pretentious and contrived. Like trying to be edgy for the sake of it. I mean when you have Brian Eno why would you deliver a song like "The Duchess" to the table to him? But then songs like "September the Ninth" and "Alien" is so nice and you can see where artists like Sufjan Stevens gets there influences from. Anyway it was an alright listen but nothing to sing about
Love the Stripes! Wasn't too familiar with this album but listened and was not disappointed.
Good album. A nice blend of late 60s rock and country. I like the lead singers voice and harmonies. Nice to put on in the background while doing chores or cooking.
This is why I signed up to this. To find cool stuff like this.
There are some cool tracks on this. I only knew the smash hit. As an album, the frontman's voice annoyed me after a while but cool to listen to some individual tracks from here.
