reallly liked it so british the hard hitting rock is great and the switch to smoother pop/RnB works so well big fan
swinggggg spang a lang there were some beautiful moments that i wish stretched out for longer some excessive soloing for me “pt 1 - festival junction” easy favourite
gorgeous incredibly emotional voice such powerful songs the band supports her so well her piano playing is also wonderful love the arrangements
“hummer” and "silverfuck" are masterpieces love the balance between heavy and softer / more tender music close to the type of music i’m leaning towards making not the biggest fan of the singer’s voice the sequencing of the album works really well
beats are incredible but damn these verses are pretty awful the flows aren't great and the lyrics get monotonous after a bit
cool instrumentals didn’t like the voice at all sometimes all the changes became a bit too much - might just not be my style didn’t love the mixing
🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽 half these songs sound the same but they’re good songs don’t really like his slower ballad-y songs except “jungleland”, although that song feels a bit too long for what it is the album being short really helps
man i really enjoyed that he writes some great songs i like the more art rock stuff the more ambient songs on the album are beautiful too
pretty sweet statement for your debut album to be a live album it’s high energy and fun gets a bit repetitive to me though
the individual elements are great - vocal delivery, drummer’s parts and pocket, guitar tone and riffs, but when put together, it doesn’t deliver too much the album is so interesting and changes in a fun way but nothing about it feels incredible. the songs sometimes get dull or are annoying to listen to there are some good jams the album also doesn’t seem super cohesive. listening to an individual song would be nice but as an album, it feels like almost every song is a bit too seperate from the one before or after and it makes it hard to get into the vibe of the music the second half is way different to the first “private life” is way way way too long not a fan of the way the vocals are mixed at all
average folk rock that’s all i have to say
ah willie interesting move to do standards loved “georgia on my mind” beautiful voice and harmonica got a bit corny sometimes
