Not really my thing. Sounds like a weird cross between alternative, low-fi, and really early rock. I had previously heard 21st Century Schitzo Man before listening to this album.
Classic Johnny Cash obviously. Odd how every song sounded almost the same whenever it’s in a live performance.
Reminds me of college. When I hear this in the gym I briefly do silly little dances, and then remember I’m in public, and then resume trying to be normal again.
Get it on, Baby! Probably just liked it for the memes. Smooth and easy bass lines too.
Best song was “Jump into the Fire.” Loved that bass line. Easy to learn, but still easy to feel it for the whole song. Album as a whole was not exactly my style, but a couple songs that I enjoyed.
Disc two?!?! Naw man. If I’m gunna listen to some El Mexicano music, then the guy singing can’t sound like Great Value Ed Sheeran. Also the instrumentals felt tedious. Felt like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to be smooth jazz or bolero or ranchera or whatever. Not Mexican enough to be played at a Mexican restaurant, but not jazz enough to be played at a bar.
Amazing how relatively unremarkable instrumentals can be completely saved but a unique and talented vocalist. Pretty repetitive instrumentals for the most part. The song that I enjoyed the most was actually the song with the least amount of instruments playing in “Graveyard Train.”
I have an odd aversion to most female singers. Most. Dunno why. They all sound the same to me or extremely auto tuned. It either bores me to death or sounds like nails on a chalkboard. I don’t know why. This sounded pretty generic to me. Like a lady singing country music. Kinda generic.
Maybe it was the drugs, but dang. More my speed (drug reference? Who knows). I enjoyed this. A bit of fresh air for me. Eruption is my favorite song even though it’s just a massive intro.
Dude screw this guy. And all his county folk like him. Major “WELL, AT LEEEEEEEEEAST!!!!!!” vibes from this quack. I’m sure he’d like it if someone shoved a hamburger up his own. Every song but one was the same. Irish blood, English heart sounded like the rock band in wizard prom from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Would not listen again. ‘Merica. Hell yeah.
Kinda felt cheated out of a really good album. All the songs were recorded really muted. Now I know that could be because it’s old. Maybe the restoration wasn’t great. I dunno. The muted sound of the whole album caused a really annoying itch in the back of my head right behind my ears and that never got scratched. And that was kinda maddening. Otherwise I thought it was fine. Never listened to Smashing Punkins before.
Bruh wut the boof was this?! I skimmed through it. Didn’t like. Didn’t care. Not interesting. Not for me.

In other words… meh. What even was this? Oh well. I’ll forget about it tomorrow.
Meh. Reminded me of the Stronks but worse. Not groovy enough to be my taste of alternative.
I feel like I’ve finally gotten to listen to music again. Honestly, the garbage I’ve had to listen to lately took away from my enjoyment of this album. Wut the heck man. I feel like music is best listened to at one’s own leisure. Great album. But it felt like a chore to listen to it. I’ll have to circle back to it.
