1001 Albums Summary

Listened to the album twice and it gets better. It's also the first on my list and I'm happy that I got something that sets the vibe for the next albums I'm about to discover.

Generally, I enjoyed the lyrics more than the melody. I like the narrative aspects of each songs which remind me of the comedic aspect of songs in... musical theater or musical films, for instance. 🥇Sympathy for the Devil 🥈Street Fighting Man

It's a nice surprise that some familiar songs are here. It has some nice melody and rhythm even if parts of some songs sound a bit out of place. 🥇Just the Way You Are 🥈She's Always a Woman

Very laid back mood with a unique weirdness to it. 🥇Ramshackle 🥈Where It's At

My previous knowledge of Elton John only comes from recent collabs with other artists, so this album was a surprise to me. Great vocals and well-executed instrumentals. Favorite picks: "Social Disease", "Bennie and the Jets"

This one's part of the music during my childhood. Hugely influenced into it by my elder sisters, I think. Favorite picks: "Ironic", "Hand in my Pocket"

I learned a lot about British and world affairs by listening and looking up the references in the lyrics. This is an artwork that also serves as a snapshot of society at its time. Favorite picks: "Signing Off", "Madam Medusa"

Some albums need a second listen for it to sink in. Favorite picks: "Deceptacon", "Let's Run"

A surprise banger album. I imagine "Baba O'Riley" sounds good in vinyl. Favorite picks: "Baba O'Riley", "Won't Get Fooled Again"

Awesome album. The synth beats are phenomenal. Best experienced with headphones. Favorite picks: "Someone Great", "All My Friends"

What the hell, this scared me a bit. I actually had to pause my streak because I can't get past that Dogfight Giggle track. I appreciate the art, but no thanks. Still better structurally than Alien Lanes though. If there's a 2.5 I'll give it 2.5.
