So very mediocre
The production is funky and interesting. The rhymes themselves are very basic - crazy to see how complex rhyme schemes and MC-ing has gotten since the 80s!
Surprised me. Not usually the kind of album I would enjoy but there were a couple of tracks that stood out for me. Hard to Handle and She talks to Angels were bops. The rest of the album was alright but it’s not an album I would probably revisit
How have I gone this long without hearing this album? Easily a 5/5
Pretty interesting album. Considering it came out in 1991 there are some tracks on their way ahead of its time. Liked a lot of the tracks but it’s not a 5 for me. It’s too bad I can’t give have stars, this would be a 3.5 but will probably give it a 4.
It was a good album. I think because I listen to hip hop a lot, I appreciate that this earlier albums are referred to again and again via samples and references but this isn’t an album I’d go out of my way to listen to again.
Too long and repetitive for what it is. I get it’s sort of a collection of beats and there is some good stuff but it doesn’t work as an album to listen to front to back
It was good background music, I really couldn’t get into it
So very mediocre
I get experimental but this was mediocre at best
Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Very soothing.
Very enjoyable
What a fun listen! Really loved the use of samples “Time Becomes a Loop” feels almost hallucinatory. Really loved the two Lush tracks and Halcyon. Fun listen, definitely will listen to this again and check out more of their discography
Had to listen to it on YouTube. Always loved Funkadelic but never knew about this album before. What a treat!
Had friends of mine who loved Muse back when this album dropped and I could not be bothered then. Listening to it now, it ain't half bad
Honestly this is a fun album! Would I ever search it out to put it on? Nope. But am I glad I got to listen to it? Yes! And if I was somewhere or with someone who put this on, I’d listen through it again. So 3/5 for me personally because I can appreciate that it’s good but it ain’t my cup of tea
Frank Sinatra definitely one of the greats. Solid album but it's older then my parents and so again - great songs to use as a backdrop for different media (movies etc) and I'm not going to balk at this if they play this in some establishment I am at, but I'm not going to be listening to this album on my own. He's got a magical voice that came to define an era. But also he didn't write any of his songs so I guess he was a great performer, but in my opinon maybe not a great artist? I don't think he ever experimented with new sounds or pushed artistic boundaries or explored different styles. Found a formula that worked, and just did that with different collaborators. Can't knock the hustle, but 3/5 for me.
Okay this was pretty good which I wasn’t expecting
Appreciate some sounds but the album overall just did nothing for me. I really struggled to get through it.
What a fantastic album!
