I have never really listened to Coldplay, and if I have, they clearly did not leave an impression!
Listening to this album, I feel (for a lack of a better word) - underwhelmed. I must have heard hundreds of songs that sound like these. They sound simple, but not in a way that truly hits with its simplicity!
Paradoxically, I think this is exactly what the appeal is- The familiarity of it! It's something I would put on when I want to listen to music without actually wanting to engage with music.
When I want to zone out sitting in a semi-crowded bus at the end of a tiring day!
That being said, there are a couple of songs I would definitely return to: Politik, and The Scientist!

Can I just say how much I loved listening to this album? Every single song made me feel so happy - like I'm going off to a picnic with a few close friends!
I loved the lilt of the vocals and the instruments, I loved the playfulness, and I loved the whimsy in the songs that leaned more towards the quieter side!

Started off feeling this is okay okay...
But somehow I began to enjoy it the more I listened- especially in the 2nd half!
Didn't really understand the lyrics - the references and the cultural context (as is generally my experience while listening to hip hop)
But the rhythm and the beats were so much fun!
I also surprisingly liked the repetition (all songs sound kind of the same!)
I think this is one of those albums I need to listen to more than once to truly like it!

I should definitely listen to rap more! Makes me feel upbeat and optimistic about life without being sickly sweet!
Lyrics were cool. But the music itself - not my jam! 🥲 The instruments were a bit too overpowering for my tastes - both in terms of its volume and texture!

Ngl, when I saw that this album has been tagged with a "hard-rock" label, I was low key dreading listening to it!
But this was surprisingly fun! I liked the bluesy undertones in what I would otherwise call "screamy music". 🙈😅 (The screaming wasn't too bad though!)
Hard rock might never be my goto genre but listening to this album has made me excited enough to at least give other music in this genre a chance 😬

I don't understand music in which the melody evokes a certain emotion and lyrics evoke a completely different emotion. After a point I stopped listening to the lyrics and just enjoyed the melody! Very chill and palatable, though all songs sound the same 🥲 This is the kind of music I am very happy to listen to if it comes my way, but I will not go out of my way to listen to!

Listening to this album was such a delight! 🥹 The lyrics were simple, melody and rhythm charming! It felt like I’d been whisked away to a quaint little town — some songs had me hopping from one cozy party to another, while others had me strolling down a cobblestone street on a rainy afternoon!
The best song was Sunny Afternoon (but I have to admit that I have heard that song before 🙃 )
