While there are some incredible songs on this project, the contrast of the first half of the album having vocals versus the latter half having no singing threw it off for me. The closer, while it is great, does not close the album very well. That being said, some of the instrumentals are great and the first half is amazing.

This album has a ton of heart put into it, but I feel as if sometimes that is the issue. While there are some incredible songs and some incredible ideas, the theatrical element falls flat sometimes. Especially towards the end. Overall, songs such like Locked Inside, Oh Maker, and Neon Valley Street make this album worth the listen, even with the theatrical duds in between.

Even though this album has 2 great songs (the opener and closer), the lead vocals really throw it off for me. For the most part, it is a bland rock project with too many things that they try to tackle. A better album from this era would be Boston's self-titled.

This was an album on my list to listen to for a while, and it definitely did not disappoint. The lyrics are beautiful, the instrumentals are simple yet so gorgeous. I love the way she utilizes her vocal range as well. I'm a sucker for some good singer-songwriter, and this album is PEAK. No bad moments. The songs remind me of Pink Moon, and I love that album. This up there the best of the best.

Great folk-rock album. Very consistent vibe throughout, nice lyrics, warm guitar riffs, and sweet vocals. One of my favorite choruses ever with "They are one person, They are two alone, They are three together, They are for each other". Overall, a simple, concise, well put together project from the trio.

This album has aged majorly, but most songs still hold up. Songs like somebody told me or midnight show have aged like milk, while Mr bright side and smile like you mean it have aged like wine. This album is a mixed basket, but it’s mostly solid.

Great rock album. The instrumentals are dense, the lyrics are interesting, and the vocals are enjoyable. I do not love every song, but I like this album a pretty good amount. I would probably revisit.

While I wasn’t blown away by this album, it was a pretty easygoing and lighthearted listen. I wasn’t huge on some songs, but I loved others. I think the closer, while musically pleasing, has odd subject matter that is played on too much, leading to a bitter end to the album. While this album isn’t amazing, it is pretty great.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
A cohesive, easy-going, quality rock album from the four person powerhouse. There really are no flaws within this project, and giving it anything under a 5/5 rating would feel criminal. Neil Young added an element to the group that makes them come together better, and the album is a perfect reflection of rock music from this era.

It's listenable, but it just makes me irritated for some reason. There are many albums on this list that sound like this record, and most of them act on the sound better. Nothing really grabbed my attention besides the opener. Boring country from the 60's.

Incredible first listening experience. Starting off with a solid folky rock song, the band dives, very tastefully, into acid house and dance. Higher than the sun and Come Together are both incredible songs in the acid house/bass genre. The band then switches the up tempo first halve of the album to a slower second half. Damaged is a major highlight from this part. While not entirely perfect, this album is a crossover of many different genres, and it is done very well. I can easily see how this album is influential, with Animal Collective coming to mind. This is personal favorite from this list so far, with so many intriguing ideas and groovy instrumentals. And the album cover is sick.
