Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
May 30 2025

Incredibly British punk. "Melody Lee"'s piano is surprising, but a welcome diversion until it goes right back into the punk of it. "These Hands" is...eh. Like the waltz part, but the laughter is grating. Rest of the album is solid overall, very colorful and diverse for a punk album, although we'll see if there are any tunes I'll remember enough to be humming later on.

Nevermind by Nirvana
May 31 2025

I mean, it's Nirvana. The album is pretty front-loaded, like most albums, but halfway through I have yet to hear something that I can even say is mid, save for maybe "Territorial Pissings". Even the overplayed songs are pretty good; they're overplayed for a reason. "Endless, Nameless" is the only song I'd say I could do without (not that it's bad by any means) but given that it was supposed to be a hidden track, its composition makes more sense. Overall a very solid album, as to be expected.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Jun 01 2025

I'm biased. I've listened to all of side C ("Concerto For a Rainy Day") countless times. Still, I'd put it up with the other two albums I've listened to so far as being very solid, including its singles, but not every song is excellent enough to pull it through to a perfect score. If I did, I feel like it'd be a disservice to Nevermind.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Jun 02 2025

I'm not a fan of jazz, and I tend to shy away from live albums, so I'm going in with low expectations. But I can appreciate a band or a singer's talent.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jun 03 2025

Unlike albums like Out of the Blue, I'm not already an Oasis fan, so this album is pretty forgettable to me. Got a few solid tracks, though I'm unaware of what the singles are. Very early The Who vibes from me.
