1001 Albums Summary

Super interesting album. I had thought it would be good in the background while I worked but I ended up paying way more attention than I had expected. I’m not sure I would listen to this full album again but I would enjoy hearing specific songs as part of a mix

Found this to be ok. The album as a whole did flow nicely, but I just don’t like this band/type of music enough to really want to listen to a full album. Would do 2 stars

This really did grow on me. The instrumentals were my favorite. The full songs less so as they were a bit too wanky for my taste. With more listening this may have gone up to a 4 start - but going with three for now

Hmm, really like their later stuff but this is too young-guy for me all in.

Who knew dad rock was so funky. Always knew this band existed, but haven’t ever really paid them any attention. I’m enjoying this more than I expected - nice smooth music to have on.

Man, so good. I was familiar with Parliament but enjoyed this a lot more - the rock/jazz/funk combo just makes me happy

Listened to this album while working. I often struggle with that - but this album snuck into that space in my brain where I could listen along without losing my focus on my task. Already adding this to a playlist. Going with 3.5 on this ine

Sounds like something the Muppets would do as a skit. But I like the Muppets.

Nice listen. I grew up with the old school Madonna and this is a nice addition to her catalog. 3.5

New to me - really enjoyed. Reminds me of much of the music I listen to in the 90’s.

Classic

I would have loved to see this band live back when this came out. Something about this style of music just seems so enveloping in person. The album is good but it just doesn’t have the same feel. 3.5 stars but rating it a 4 as that live show would have been awesome

I was expecting to rate this higher than I did - maybe my timing for listening to the album wasn’t good but it just didn’t keep my attention aside from the radio hits. 3.5 stars.

So up my alley - recognized several songs from my teens that brought back lots of memories. Good one
