Blur by Blur
Jun 03 2025

A lot of stylistic experimentation on this one ends up making the album feel a little disjointed. Definitely a big departure from the ‘90s Brit-pop sound of their earlier albums. This feels like a very talented band with varied musical interests feeling around for a new direction. Favorite tracks: Song 2, I’m Just a Killer for Your Love, Look Inside America

Jun 04 2025

The quintessential West Coast Gangsta Rap album. Not to defend the violent and misogynistic but this album really set the standards for ‘90s rap. Favorite tracks: Fuck Tha Police, Express Yourself, Dopeman

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 05 2025

This album exemplifies what I consider to be Springsteen’s sound. He has two types of songs, rockers and ballads and this album definitely has both. I’d probably reserve this one for a long road trip across nondescript middle America. Favorite tracks: Something in the Night, Racing in the Streets, Darkness On the Edge of Town

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jun 06 2025

Some of my favorite studio engineering of any Beatles album. Maybe it’s just the benefit of hindsight but I feel like you can hear the end is near for the band. A handful of great tracks stand out with a a bunch of filler in between. Favorite tracks: Oh! Darling, I Want You (She’s So Heavy), Because

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds

Some good vocal harmonies and interesting studio engineering for the time.
