She so cool

Immensely enjoyable. Clever and full of hooks

Some cool stuff here but Tribe gets a lot better after this.

Sick as hell

The Rolling Stones are good at making Rock and Roll songs.

A whole bunch of very enjoyable tunes.

There’s some fun tracks here, and it definitely has a purpose, but as an album long listening experience it gets a little old.

Doesn’t really work, do like some stuff here.

Led Zeppelin can be a touch overwrought for me but they’re still great.

The thing about Billy Joel is that he’s awesome

Dre just isn’t a rapper. Awful skits. Aged poorly. But Dre’s such a good producer that this still has moments that make it vital.

Morrisey is a whiny dick and Marr is the greatest and that’s why The Smiths are a great band.

Prog has never really been to my tastes and this didn’t really change that, but this does have a lot of great stuff in it, might connect more with it on a re-listen

Think these guys might be British

Not everything about this works (there is, for instance, not an insignificant amount of kazoo) but this is quite good. It really captures exactly the mood it’s going for too, it feels like it’s midnight in the woods.

A couple of the songs kinda drag, but when they connect they really connect

The more metal side of grunge has never really been my thing, it doesn’t tend to provide what I want from either genre. It’s a solid album but doesn’t connect much personally.

Jackson’s best by a wide margin and perhaps more importantly (at least to me) one of the great triumphs of Quincy Jones. Side 2 is not nearly as good as side 1. I do struggle more with Michael Jackson more than most bad men in art in large part because he never had to face the music during his life and since his death he still has a psychotic devoted cult that will insist he never did anything wrong. The weird dissonance created by the edgelessness of his music and the monstrousness of his person puts me off on a pure listening level. Makes for a weird listening experience just trying to engage with this album for what it is.

Very cool album, not super cohesive tho so it can be a bit all over the place.
