1001 Albums Summary

Al Green is a very talented vocalist. Hits aside, I enjoyed side B of the album more than the beginning.

Solid rock album.

Fun blues album.

This is the first album I ever purchased and will always be a favorite. I can listen to it start to finish and sing along the whole way through.

Fun rock album. I really enjoy the grungy raspy Alex Turner.

Very sexually charged, the sentiment seems to be angry with the world and seeking revenge.

Great album

Just fun all the way through.

Sepultura has mastered the “art” of whisper screaming. Anger is the obvious message. However the lyrics are often unintelligible making the intended direction impossible to detect. It was difficult to listen to and I was glad when it was over.

A pleasant folk rock mix

Very relaxing for an afternoon in the kayak.

Back and forth between folk and operatic. Beautiful

Easy to listen to

Clearly skilled in their art. It sounds like there is a lot of pain behind the anger and violence expressed here. I can’t seem to get past the use of explicit lyrics seemingly only for the sake of using explicit lyrics. I guess I’m just not part of the culture.

Very peaceful

Some old favorites from my parents’ childhood

I don’t generally enjoy the genre but it got better as it went on. The first few songs felt like M.I.A. simply saying their name repeatedly. It makes me feel like I’m listening to an advertisement.

Very peaceful

Jazzy and fun, simple in a good way.

Solid Green Day at its best
