Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Aug 12 2025

I thought it was okay. I’m not usually into indie bands, but a few hooks caught my attention. The vocalist seemed to be trying a bit too hard to channel David Bowie, and the chord progressions felt generic. Still, their playful use of percussion added some much-needed life to the music.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Aug 14 2025

I can hear many elements of late '70s - early '80s punk/pop/rock. From U2 to The Police. It wasn't bad. I'm tired of Brass In Pocket. I don't understand how people aren't tired of that song as it's overplayed in every market I've lived in. Didn't love the album - didn't hate it either. I will give them credit for being original. 3.5 Stars Favorites: Private Life & Space Invader

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 15 2025

A classic album, where even the songs that didn't become hits are still good. One of those early albums you can listen and enjoy all the way through. Good, classic, '70s rock-blues-country.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Aug 18 2025

A classic album, already reviewed hundreds of times. There isn't much more I can add. Some songs are better than others, but there are enough hits on this album to have made it worth buying back in the day. I love Pink Floyd and one doesn't need to be high or drunk to appreciate their work (contrary to legend). 5 out of 5

Low by David Bowie
Aug 19 2025

I'll never understand people's obsession with Bowie.

Rio by Duran Duran
Aug 25 2025
Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
Aug 27 2025

This album is over 24 years old, and all but one song have less than 1m plays. There is a reason for that.

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Aug 29 2025

Another one of those albums which I think has songs with more than a million plays simply because this 1001 albums list is directing people to it.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Sep 01 2025

Ok. No more Bowie or Talking Heads albums...please!!!

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Sep 17 2025

Not generally a country fan, but this has some country-rockabilly sounds to it. I have heard the album once before in my youth and remembered liking it. Decades later it still sounds good.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Sep 18 2025

Like Bowie, I've never been a Willie fan. Sorry. Boring.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Oct 14 2025

I actually liked it better than I thought I would. Pretty reflective and pioneering of the genre at that time.

Oct 15 2025

I appreciate Brian Eno's contribution to modern music via his collaboration, but his solo stuff...I don't know. I think Kraftwerk was more melodic. I enjoy them more.

Dummy by Portishead
Oct 16 2025

Better than I thought it would be, I was surprised by how many songs I was familiar with. I'm not sure I would intentionally listen to it again, but it wasn't a waste of time either.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Oct 17 2025

Classic album. Every song a masterpiece!

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Oct 20 2025

I gave it a chance. 80s rap...I thought I might like some of it, but no. Not for me.
