Popular Reviews

British Steel by Judas Priest

My only experience hearing this band was on Beavis and Butthead… Breaking The Law! Didn’t really know what to expect. I always thought Judas Priest was metal, which I tend to avoid. This was great though, more like hard rock with some metal-esque guitar solos. Was this ahead of its time? I found it a little cheesy at times, but maybe that’s just because I’m hearing it for the first time in 2025. Maybe this was mind blowing back in the day.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Aug 13 2025

Meh. Kinda cheesy. Well produced though.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Aug 14 2025

Great album. Reminds me of learning guitar in high school.

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Aug 15 2025

Not my jam, but I can appreciate the lyrical skills.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Aug 18 2025

Nice bass. Talented band, but overall pretty weak songs and shallow boring lyrics.

Imagine by John Lennon
Aug 19 2025

Further proof that P-Mac was the better songwriter. A couple good tunes on here but it’s mostly average at best. The last few seconds bumped John up a few notches on my list of worst harmonica players ever (he’s giving Bob Dylan a run for his money).

Club Classics Vol. One by Soul II Soul
Aug 20 2025

Was not really into this to start but it did grow on me as the album progressed. When Back To Life came on I was like, hey I’ve heard this. Was going to give it a 2 but, despite probably never listening to it again, I think it deserves a 3.

Sep 01 2025

Couple real gems. Couple decent head bobbers. And a bunch of filler.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Sep 03 2025

Never could jive with Jimi’s melodies and chord progressions. Very inconsistent, some good tracks on here though. Title track is strong.

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Sep 04 2025

Fun band. Consistent album. But, I was never really wowed by any tracks.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Sep 05 2025

Pretty good. My first time hearing this artist.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Sep 17 2025

Amazing debut. This must have blown minds when it came out. I like how succinct it is too. 35 minutes, all killer no filler.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Sep 18 2025

It was a fine album. Understandable why I’ve never heard of them though.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Sep 19 2025

Liked the message, but the delivery was lackluster. First song was the strongest.

The Clash by The Clash
Sep 22 2025

Never got into them beyond the radio hits. This exceeded my expectations. Kind of like the Sex Pistols but better musicians.

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Sep 23 2025

Surprised how guitar-forward this was. I always thought Blondie was like an 80s synth pop band. Reminded me of The Cars. I love how she breaks up her voice in the back of her throat every now and then.

High Violet by The National
Sep 24 2025

Decent album. Got bored with it after a while.

Sep 29 2025

Strong 4. There were a few songs though that I was happy when they ended.

The Specials by The Specials
Sep 30 2025

Never heard of them. Was actually surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Oct 01 2025

Meh. Some good moments, but mostly easily forgettable.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Oct 02 2025

My favorite part was when it ended.

Oct 08 2025

My first 5 star of an album I’ve never listened to in it’s entirety. I was fully engaged start to finish. Was expecting good things, since I love the hit single title track, was not disappointed
