1001 Albums Summary

Dolly is a treasure, but this one is not for me. Found it hard to even listen in the background while working.

This album reminds me of my brother, Jonathan. I remember this cassette and the cherry smell of his car driving around in the summer listening to this. I remember liking Lodi Dodi when I was 8 lol

All new to me, but not bad! Veers a little too folky and traditional for me at points, but I went back to “Million Dollar Bash” a few times today

Great stuff. Wish this came up in the winter because I feel like it would play much better than on a beautiful sunny day (like today)

I know he’s kind of a novelty and as common in NY as rats, but on a sunny fall day this hit. Ridiculous album title lol

Big fan of this album. “Everyone” is such a great song. Could listen to this on loop (and did)

First time listening to a Waits album in full. Demands to be paid attention to, way too distracting to be work background music. Respect it, don’t love it.

Grew on me, I ended up liking this a lot. Jazzy shoegaze, beautiful chaos at times. I get the Beatles comparisons. Reminiscent of Blur for me too at times

3.5 - Hit and miss for me. Some of these are classic, some are very skippable.

I thought this was going to be better based solely on Urban Hymns, but this ended up being a real snoozer for me

Not Jimi’s best, rambles around a bit.

I knew “Connected”, but the rest was brand new to me. “All Night Long” and “Playing With Fire” stand out. They feel like The Rolling Stones to me at times?
