Hes barely singing, just talking. The music is kinda nice though, at times i did like what i was hearing, though then his "singing" took all the magic away. I do like his voice though, wish he would actually do a little singing. Not a huge fan of this genre anyway so i guess theres that

Very interesting album, to say the least. Before the rest, i have to say i love Into You a lot. The groove and the vocals, very tasty, very pleasant music. I like how the vocals are used as an instrument at times throughout the album, how they blend with the music. It further strengthens the groove! I like Cholly (Funk Getting Ready To Roll) but i doubt id ever pull it up to listen to it or even listen to it if it came on shuffle. It is a fun little song but it doesnt really stand out The guitar in Lunchmeataphobia is incredible. Thats all. The song after that one which i will not type the name of, is also very nice. I like what theyre doing with the guitar, though im not sure if the guitar is happy to be violated like that. Maggot brain is insane. Damn. 4/5 Songs are lengthy, while that is not a bad thing in and of itself, when its long bits music i dont care for, it gets boring. A lot of songs are funky and creative but they arent anything special. Generally, it was a nice experience and a few songs i did add to my playlist but even those i might skip occaisonally because theyre not really songs id listen to on shuffle, the way i usually listen to music. But still, quite nice album.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós

Hauntingly beautiful. An incredible experience. I wish to listen to this while watching the northern lights. Makes me feel small, but not insignificant. Every night, we are embraced by the same moonlight every dream was ever dreamt under.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys

Very joyful, goofy music. Soft and happy songs about love and stuff idk didnt catch my attention that much, not a huge fan. 2/5

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 29 2025

First i have ever heard of this band, so i was hesitant to start with a live album but i cant say it was a disappointment. Funky riffs, drums, good stuff. I like the music. But i dont see myself ever looking for this, ever pulling it up on my own. Ill never search for 20 minutes or more of jamming. Mustve been fun to see them live though. I like King Crimson a lot so im not too far from this style but i dont really listen to their live albums or jamming sessions either, its just not what i look for in music. Basically, the music is actually really damn good, just not presented in a way ill listen to often. 4/5 Update: the last song, Whipping Post, around the 14 minute mark, something snapped, something beautiful was born right there, maybe i might listen to more music like this after all.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock

This is interesting. Its funky, sure. But i dont see anything special about it. Its just mediocre to me. 3/5

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem

Lobotomy: The Album. A few decent tracks, a few terrible tracks. Nothing special. I like the first and the last track the most, also the one where they yell north america. 3/5

The Specials by The Specials
Sep 02 2025

I was not at all familiar with ska. I dont love it but i dont hate it either. I like Nite Klub's intro with the background chatter as if its a performance in some venue. Rest of the song, i am indifferent to. I dont usually love similar things but i feel like it works with this genre. I like imagining hearing them live in a regular night out. Generally, the songs are nice. Some of them, i wouldnt mind hearing somewhere, maybe in a bar or cafe. But never would i pull this up to listen to it myself.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Sep 03 2025

This sucks. Never heard of lou reed before, had zero expectations. But the album cover evoked the feeling this would be very boring and it was right. This man isnt singing, hes just reading the lyrics to the rhythm. With a very soulless voice, might i add. Theres just something annoying and creepy about his voice. At every song i was asking why anyone would make this music. What was the vision, please tell me as i cant see it. Now that i am familiar with lou reed, i know to avoid him like the plague. Thank you, 1001 albums I would give a 0/5 if i could.

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
Sep 04 2025

First song, i hate it. Im just not gonna listen to the rest.

Blur by Blur
Sep 06 2025

Had heard of them, but hadnt really checked them out so this was a pleasant surprise. I generally liked the music. Its nothing incredible but its nice. I dont see what all the hype around Song 2 is about. Not to say i dont like it, i do. Maybe not as much as everyone else. Anyway, solid album. 4/5
