Songs of my youth, pink matter andre 3000 verse is forever goated.
Few bangers but overall fairly mindless - understanding this is their first album and not their greatest
Interesting album here as the New York underground hip-hop scene shines bright with the group and helps bring it to light in the early 90s.
A trailblazer in political movement whose music in this day and age have unfortunately been misinterpreted and distorted to fit a narrative that he would have never supported. The leader in political movement music who would be deeply ashamed of the state our country is in, but ultimately not surprised
Funkadelic. This album beautifully illustrates the dichotomy between the swag/style of the black community while also portraying the constant struggle the people face. It is a tight rope between being proud of who you are and being trapped in a system that you did not create. Truly a tragic irony behind the beats but once that’s stripped away it’s a cautionary tale.
