NEU! 75
Neu!
This was pleasantly surprising, actually. It was my first listen of Krautrock, and I was not disappointed. For being such an old album, I would have thought that it was released only a couple of years ago. One thing that bothered me was the faux-ambience that they had at the end of each track that kept dragging on. All in all, not a bad listen, makes for good background music.

It's Too Late to Stop Now
Van Morrison
A soothing and romantic listen. Simply an epitome of white music, which has it’s ups and downs. All in all, not bad music, simply not innovative enough. All songs blend into each other like the whole album is one track, ultimately making the experience quite boring actually. However, the energy is pleasant and the instrumentation familiar and warm. Definitely a hallmark album for its sound and time.

Imagine
John Lennon
An ambitious exploration of Lennon’s vocal range. There are thematic similarities across the board with this album, but they are presented in unique ways throughout the project.

Awesome, loved it.

In Utero
Nirvana
High energy on each track, but sometimes the screaming and screeching got very obnoxious quickly. I can appreciate the lyricism for its time, but personally, I don’t think their meanings have necessarily aged well over time.

What's Going On
Marvin Gaye
What a fantastic listen. Every song is a masterpiece. Gaye's vocals are simply just a joy to listen to. I love the continuity of this album and the fun instrumentation and composition of each of his songs. Definitely a new favourite album.

It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
Public Enemy
Fully charged and raw. This album has so much energy and depth to it. I particularly enjoyed the way that the group interacted with one another through the tracks. The instrumentation is crisp and particular to its time.

Let's Get It On
Marvin Gaye
I'm loving Marvin Gaye. However, I still think that his other album was better than this one.

Massive Attack
This was really cool, actually. My first exposure to MA, and it didn't disappoint. It does drag a bit because most of the instrumentation stays the same. However, thematically very coherent and understandable as well.

Fucking fantastic. Every song is so chill and laid-back, but with a hint of energetic soul to it as well.

Kid A
Radiohead
What a beautiful and exotic listen. Each track is ethereal and spooky. The album follows a theme of unease and pure, unadulterated bliss at points. This rollercoaster creates a balanced but energetic listen as well. The instrumentation is ground-breaking and intriguing to pay attention to.
