These guys clearly "rock" and I may have enjoyed this more if I were younger and more into the trappings of rebellion.
The singles are great! The others are like unfinished version of the singles. Copeland tunes have Zappa vibes (derogatory)

Undeniable grooves. Killer synths. The songs are barely there, which makes a close listen a little repetitive. That’s not the point, of course.
Replacement level 70s pop rock. Like album filler for a middling Queen record. Hookless. The only personality I caught was that the guy sings high a lot. Wikipedia says this is glam rock so maybe they look good on TV?
Still the lean fun buzzy record that made me feel cool in high school
I was never in England in the middle of the 20th century but this album makes me feel like I know what it was like. It’s got wit and charm and the Kinks’ ramshackle r&b is energetic and fun.
John Lennon is the best singer rock n roll ever had
Fun record! Maybe a little one note but it’s a good note. I appreciate it more knowing they did completely different stuff on other records.
This seems to have settled into being the consensus pick for best SP and that’s a-ok with me. No one’s ever done teen angst quite like Billy. Way more play in my 90s middle school for this than any of their contemporaries. Those big muffs buzzing away all those fools who just don’t understand.
Pretty, sexy distortion. Yet so cool that it keeps a distance.
Somber and subdued, yet insistent. Foggy and pastoral, yet metallic.
This rips holy cow
