1001 Albums Summary

Can see the influence they had on indie artists (and emo) later on. Nice melodies, unique vocals. Not exactly my taste, especially in terms of mix and instrument timbres. I could see it growing on me if I gave it more listens, that’s just first impression

Only knew their hits. Lovely songwriting, great mix (love the 60s bass and drums sound), can hear the influence they had in modern bands that emulate this style (like one of my favorites, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros). Can definitely see myself working this into regular listening

Fun old school metal, I see the influence this had on later metal. The cheese factor is pretty high, but it’s part of the charm

Weird as hell. Don’t really know how to feel. Can see the influence on experimental and post rock later on. One listen is bizarre, but I think if I listened more I’d start to see what there going for more

Only really know their hits, this was cool to hear. More edge to it than I’d expect from their hits. Orchestration is gorgeous, especially on Mother Nature.
