“I love you, you pay my rent” is the karaoke song from Saltburn!
“It’s a sin” is the original that Elton John sampled for the AIDS TV show.
“Shopping” is about privatization and Margret Thatcher.
“One More Chance”
“King’s Cross”
“Heart”
“Free Bird” is the only song I knew.
They also wrote “Sweet Home Alabama”.
I liked “Simple Man”.
Didn’t finish it. I liked the fist song.
I absolutely loved it! I added “Thin Line” with Nelly Furtado and “High Fidelity” to my playlist immediately. The sound reminds me so much of the MTV Downtown show. Such a nostalgic 2000s sound!
The guitar in “Brand New Cadillac” is so cool! “Hateful”’s storytelling is very good. “The Right Profile”’s brass section is great! Of course, “London Calling” is fantastic! “Lost in the Supermarket” is amazing! I like “Train in Vain”.
Overall, great album, but I prefer the “Combat Rock” album more.
Amazing album! I like “Gotta Get Away”, “Come Out and Play”, “Self-Esteem”, “It’ll Be a Long Time”, and “What Happened to You”. “Not the One” and “Smash” remind me so much of the angsty energy of “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” (I loved that song as a teen). I loved the old school narrator intro and outro they used. The instrumental ending to “Smash” is great! It has some oriental sounding elements to it. There is an 8min dead air in that song for a hidden break.
Reminds me a lot of the Seatbelts! Great adlips, sound bites, and intro. Very funky indeed!
Loved it! Perfect for studying and working!
This is insane! I loved it for the first note till the last! Some highlights were “Heartland”, “Infected”, “Angels of Deception”, “Sweet Bird of Truth”, “Slow Train to Dawn” … actually every song was exceptional! It reminds me a lot of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” especially the vocals and the mood of the album. I’m adding the whole album!
I enjoyed it! Perfect autumn vibes! I liked “Across The Great Divide” and “King Harvest”. I’d listen again.
I really wanted to like this. The album sounds a bit bland and repetitive. Some of the lyrics are very nice tho. Like “Caroline, No”. But I can see why it’s a classic.
I understand why people like Björk so much. I liked this album. Another “Seatbelts” twin. Some highlights: “Human Behavior”, “Venus as a Boy”, “There’s More to Life Than”, “Someone in Love”, “Big Time Sensuality” … all of her songs are fantastic. I especially loved “Crying” and “Violently Happy”. I can’t believe I never checked her out before!
“Don’t Fight It, Feel it” is amazing! “Higher Than the Sun”’s instrumental is great! “Inner Fight” is very enchanting but also has an alien kind of anxiety to it. “I’m Comin’ Down”’s bras solo is fantastic. I keep thinking it’s incredible how they wrote such a coherent album while so high on LSD! I loved their creativity.
It’s funny how years latter I still can’t get into B’s discography. I find most of the songs here a bit bland and repetitive. I was surprised to find I liked some of them though. “Blow”, “XO”, and “Ring Off” are really good! I loved “Flawless” as a teenager. I much more prefer Lemonade as an album, but I see why this one is so well loved.
Very random vibes. It original, but not my style.
I found it very repetitive! I wish I enjoyed it more.
I wish I could hear this album live! It’s so well written. Some outstanding songs for me were ‘The Prisoner’, ‘The Number of the Beast’, ‘Run to the Hills’, and ‘Hallowed by Thy Name’.
