James Brown is absolutely the star of this performance. None of the instruments stand out in a way that competes with is voice. This is obviously highly edited and some of the song transitions are a bit jarring. To my taste, as an album this is perfectly fine, but nothing I would seek out. As a performance, DAMN I wish I had been in the room.
Great album. Also a reminder that fade-outs are weird.
Nice & relaxing grooves
Definite sounds of the 70's. It's not bad; it just doesn't stand out to me. The kind of 70's music I've heard most of my life and would be ok not hearing again. The self-indulgent length of some of these songs without ever actually going anywhere makes it apparent why punk music became necessary.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds is one of those bands that's always been on the edge of my awareness but I never really listened to. The few Nick Cave songs I heard at the time fell flat on my ears. This album was a nice revelation. I really enjoyed it and will be playing it again. Time to check out some more Nick Cave.

A lot of AC/DC lacks variety for me I never get tired of the song "Highway to Hell" but the rest of the album is just, AC/DC. Pleasant if you like them but no other highlight songs for me.
I'd never listened to this album before. It's got a nice chill vibe to it that makes it easy to listen to but I'd need to spend more time with it to see if it interests me lyrically. At this point, it's a good listen but definitely more "produced" than "played" and doesn't really get its hooks into me.
This album isn't necessarily terrible, but it's definitely "of a time." I'm no R&B expert, but I listen to enough Blues that listening to this is actively distracting, knowing that there's not a song here that couldn't have been more capably handled by one of Elvis's contemporaries with a less marketable complexion.
I remember listening to this when it first came out. It has probably their two biggest post-RunDMC songs with "Love in an Elevator" and "Jamie's Got a Gun." The rest of the album is ok, but not memorable.
I expected to like this one more than I did. American Girl stands as one of the best songs I've ever seen live. The rest of the album has a nice variety of songs, but nothing that really stood out to me as something I'd been missing out on.
This is an album straight out of the "less is more" school of thought. One lone voice and a guitar. Other instruments, when present, are low enough in the mix that the voice and guitar still stand out. Still a great record.

I wouldn't count this as one of my favorite Sabbath albums. Not bad, but not what Sabbath is known for.
Some of the lyrics here seem like they are crowbarred into place, but it's got a really good flow and groove to it.
