Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Dec 04 2025

I don’t really know how to rate folk music since I don’t listen to a lot of folk, but I gotta say Baez has a fantastic voice, and she is a stellar guitar player. Beyond that, though, the songs are just alright.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Dec 05 2025

Had no idea wht to expect, but got some really solid blues rock. There are great songs in here, and even with the language barrier, you can feel the emotions of these musicians who have been exiled from their home country. Really glad this one’s on the list.

Debut by Björk
Dec 08 2025

i don’t think i like bjork guys It gets a 2 because I can commend the avant-garde-ness of it all I guess, and because I skipped through most of it. It’d be like reading the cliff notes for a book and then writing a book review. But yeah, I didn’t really care for the sound of it at all.

2112 by Rush
Dec 09 2025

2112 is one of the finest pieces of rock music to come out of the 20th century. The three members of Rush are phenomenal musicians, carried by Peart’s sci-fi inspired, dystopian lyricism. It’s so imaginative and unique, and I fully believe everyone should listen to it. The B-Side of this album is nowhere near as strong, and I unfortunately can’t just rate this album on the strength of the A-Side. It’s not terrible, just pretty standard Rush fare which, as a Rush fan, lands firmly it “alright” territory.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Dec 11 2025

Wasn’t expecting to dislike this one as much as I did. I enjoyed Paul’s Boutique and Ill Communication, but this one feels far more amateur than those, which I guess makes sense.

Roots by Sepultura
Dec 12 2025
Smash by The Offspring
Dec 15 2025

I mean, it’s fine. Pretty unremarkable 90s punk rock but there are some highlights on here. Wasn’t a fan of the skits, I just found them corny, and I still don’t love the vocals, but I enjoyed the instrumentals more than I thought I would. Not a bad listen, but probaly not one I’ll be returning to soon.

Dec 16 2025

Really wanted to enjoy this one more. Has some great momets and fun tracks, but I didn’t find the albums as a whole to be too engaging. Maybe I’ll come to love it later in life.
