1001 Albums Summary

An absolute classic.

It's fine. Inoffensive. Couldn't help but feel like I'd rather be listening to Spoon.

Pretty good! Enjoyed it once I got into it, not sure if it is one I'll return to all that much.

Its just kinda what it is. Not for me.

This is the type of album by a band that your friend is really into. You go over to their house to hang out and they put it on. It's totally fine, enjoyable to some degree, even pretty catchy at points. Even with all that being true, you're still never going to listen to it by yourself when you aren't with THAT friend.

After days of bluesy rock bands from across the decades, having this roll along was rad.

This album is great, probably the best Jam album for my tastes. It's all the best parts of the Jam influenced by lots of good bits of the post-punk stuff that was going on at the time.

Would give more stars if I could

You can feel about it however you want. I'll even agree Eddie was excellent at guitar and David lee Roth was a charismatic front man. As a modern listening experience however, this stuff doesn't hold up separated from nostalgia. It's dated, wanky goofball rawk only loved by those stuck in time.

Overall pleasant but not my thing. A subjective 3 stars, an objective 4.

Aging gen-x white dude music.

A 4 only because it doesn't stand up to their first album. It's not as good, for sure, and the stylistic growth can be creaky at time, but the volume of low scores I see are honestly surprising. I really love this album, to each their own ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
