This is part of one of my favorite albums (I like listening to the combined Kid A Mnesia album), what're the odds that it would be the first one we listen to! If you have the chance, they made a virtual sort of museum walkthrough that meshes visual and audio elements in interesting ways that I can't recommend checking out enough!
I really liked the "make it seem like it was recorded in front of an audience but for the most part it's not" idea and it feels well executed. Usually I'm only a fan of the live version of a song over the studio recording if I've heard the live version first, so this becomes humourous when thinking about that.
Other than that I liked the arc of the album and its use of a few different genres.
My favorite song is "Piece of My Heart" and I generally enjoy all the songs after the first two.
I think my first introduction to Tuesday's Gone was playing it in Guitar Hero: Metallica, it was great and I still enjoy the song. I don't know though, of the 8 songs I personally only like 4 of them and the experience of the rest packaged together in this album doesn't work for me. I'd rather listen to the ones I like outside the album, which is different to other albums where I may only really love 3 or 4 tracks but will still listen to the whole thing. Also, maybe I'm biased towards other groups, or it could be a generational thing, but I have a hard time believing this is the best southern rock/blues/country album that everyone must listen to or they're missing out.
Enjoyed listening through this album, there were a couple of songs that slowed things down in ways I didn't necessarily care for and upon repeat listens they don't stand out in the way other songs do. Still an overall good listening experience!
My favorites are probably Plainsong, Pictures of You, Prayers for Rain, and Untitled.
Good album experience, current favorites are To Zion, Doo Wop (That Thing), and Everything is Everything. I had more to say at one point but was working and traveling all day so I can no longer remember specifically.
Solid, my favorite bass line was on Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)
It was fine but nothing really stood out in a 15 track album and that's tough.
Feel like the harmonica could be better handled in this album (and I enjoy harmonica)
I liked most of the songs I individually but I don't know if listening in an album format added anything for them.
This is an incredible album
Doesn't quite pick up until Longview and I think I in general prefer to listen to these songs as they might appear on the radio or a playlist, not so much in an album
It's a somewhat interesting concept and I somewhat understand its influence at the time of release but it's just not my jam.
This is a long album. . .
I've never particularly thought about it before, but I previously didn't know much about Fleetwood Mac besides their name - not their genre of music nor that they're the ones who made Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, and You Make Loving Fun. It's truly surprising to me that I recognize this many songs and did not know they were all from this band.
Anyway, I generally enjoyed this album.
Turns out I enjoy a bit of bossa nova.
