Dummy by Portishead
Dec 16 2025
Dirt by Alice In Chains

1977 by Ash
Jan 03 2026

Can hear the influence for other bands such as Nada Surf. Liked the song Oh Yea. Others just ok.

Skylarking by XTC
Jan 04 2026

Muscially liked it but couldn't get past the lyrics. Never heard of this band before but looks like Phish covered them before. I think I can see where the Kasvot Vaxt influence may have come from too.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 06 2026

Great for background while working music. Love chameleon and watermelon man. Was not familiar with this album previously.

Jan 07 2026

Had this CD growing up. Never really thought of it as a top album because of the massive success of Praise You. Nice to go back and listen to the other tracks in full outside of the big singles. Forgot about Right here Right now, Kalifornia, Soul Surfing, and You're Not from Brighton. I used to play with You're Not From Brighton on a DJ mixing website with 2 little turn tables. Realized that Soul Surfing is often stuck in my head whatever that lyric is.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Jan 08 2026

Aerosmith really isn't my thing. Listened to most but wasn't familiar with most of these songs. Liked Back in the Saddle.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Jan 09 2026

Haven't listened to this Miles yet. Really enjoyed it while making dinner. Loved Jeru.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jan 10 2026

All bangers. Didn't realize all of these songs came from Thriller. Listened to nearly all individually as singles.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jan 11 2026

I wouldn’t have thought to listen to this album without this challenge but really enjoyed it. I’ve never really listened to anything from Janet besides whatever was popular in the early 2000s and the music video with her and Michael. Liked this but didn’t understand what the political stuff was addressing for the time. Thought it was funny when she said “get the point now let’s dance” and it went more into straight forward songs lol. Liked rhythm nation, miss you much, and love will never do

Parklife by Blur
Jan 12 2026

Listened to most but only really liked bank holiday.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Jan 16 2026

Usually would like this but seemed a bit too harsh. Couldn't get into it. I'm assuming for it's time this was groundbreaking but seems very similar to current day underground music

Odelay by Beck
Jan 17 2026

Forgot about some of these. Classics but never listened to the full album

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jan 18 2026

Wouldn't have looked into Joni Mitchell most likely without this challenge. Really enjoyed this. Liked Help Me, Free Man in Paris, and Car on a Hill. Liked the jazz elements. Didn't realize Phish covered Free Man in Paris too.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jan 24 2026

I liked day in the life of a tree and feel flows. Was this before beach boys found their sounds? Didn’t recognize any of the hits but maybe surfs up the title track?
