Stevie Wonder
3/5
Track 1. (too high) loved the synth and drums, totally has that 70s flare to it that encapsulates that era well. But I felt like it was slightly underwhelming, and I felt like maybe the song was too long. It feels very playful and experimental, but the lyrics weren’t amazing. 5.7/10
Track 2. (Visions) This song felt much different to the previous track; it felt more intimate, and his voice truly shone through, paired with the acoustic guitar. The lyrics were much better than the first track. also a long song (maybe I’m just used to nowadays how artists make 2-3 minute songs😪) but I actually enjoyed the length of it and liked the guitar solos. 7/10
Track 3. (living for the city) Love how tracks 2 and 3 blend. another longgg song but who cared when it’d 7 minutes of Stevie Wonder singing his heart out lol. actually love the vibe of this song, more poppy and upbeat than the previous two. Not many notes for this one. loved the verse-“her brothers smart, he’s got more sense than many-his patience’s long, but soon he won’t have any-to find a job is like a haystack needle-cause where he live they don’t use coloured people.” 7.6/1
Track 4: (golden lady) I actually really loved this song, it's just a song I'd find hard to fault. The rhythm and melody are really catchy, and it's totally a song I'll be adding to my playlist. 8/10
Track 5. (higher ground) soooo 70s. "powers, keep on lying-while your people keep on dying" yup, sadly still true to this day. liked the vibe of this song, for me it wasn't a total stand-out. 7/10
Track 6. (Jesus Children Of America) I mean its good, but not the best from this album; his vocals really make this song. a bit repetitive lol. 6.2/10
Track 7. (All in love is fair) Finally, some piano, I think Stevie really shines in his slower songs like this one. Such a good love song, this actually gave me goosebumps!! What an absolute generational talent. Probably one of my favourite songs on this album, even his discography tbh. 8.7/10
Track 8. (Don't you worry 'bout a thing) Latino kinggg. Chiller Song, I actually really liked it. nothing crazy, didn't stand out per say but it was good. 6.8/10
Track 9. (He's misstra know-it-all) I actually really liked this song, again, I prefer the slower songs; the lyrics were a real standout for this song. 7/10
Overall rating: 7.1/10
Dolly Parton
2/5
Track 1. (Coat Of Many Colors) I don't really listen to a lot of country music, so it's probably something I wouldn't typically turn on. But I do like the message of this song, and Dolly's voice is very whimsical. It actually has very sad and deep lyrics, which I feel set Dolly apart from other country artists. 6.5/10
Track 2. (Traviling Man) Its alright, nothing amazing tbh its sorta underwhelming. Also very short. 4.2/10
Track 3. (My Blue Eyes) Better than the previous track, it's just got that classic country sound to it, nothing particularly special. Like the melody. Also very short lol. 5.1/10
Track 4. (If I Lose My Mind) All the songs seem to follow the same heartbreak, talking to her 'mama' and crying lol. Just a slower version of the previous track. 5/10
Track 5. (The Mystery Of The Mystery) Vocals stood out on this track. I like how the instrumental doesn't drown out her voice. I think that's why I liked it better. 5.7/10
Track 6. (She Never Met A Man (She Didn't Like)) I'm starting to notice all the songs sound very similar and almost blend; no song is really standing out from this album. Again shes got an incredible voice, so it's not exactly earbleeding to listen to, but not a standout song. 5.5/10
Track 7. (Early Morning Breeze) Actually has a more unique sound than the rest. It's got a very freeing, whimsical sound if that makes sense. Not sure what's so different about this song to make me like it, maybe the instrumental is different, I think it suits Dolly's voice better. 6.4/10
Track 8. (The Way I See You) I do like this one better, not for any particular or standout reason, but I do like it. 6.3/10
Track 9. (Here I Am) Again, pretty average, more upbeat than the rest, so that's a positive. It's got a catchy melody, but that's the most I can really say about it. At least it's over 3 minutes lol. 5.7/10
Track 10. (A Better Place To Live) its whatever, I HATE the 'la, la, la' in this song omg I'm sorry it's so annoying. You had good intentions with this song, girl, but it's a no for me. 4/10
Notes: very short album, not even close to Dolly's best album, so not sure what this is doing on the top 1001 albums.
Final Score: 5.4/10
David Bowie
2/5
Track 1. (Speed of Life) Other than the fact that it has no lyrics, it's a good intro to what the album will sound like. Can't really rate it fairly tho since it's not an actual song. Fire melody tho. 6/10
Track 2. (Breaking Glass) very short and hardly any lyrics but still a banger tbh. but like it's so short I can't really rate it too high 6.7/10
Track 3. (What in the World) interesting instrumental, can't tell if I like it or not. veryyy 70's, which I do like. It's hard not to be biased because David is one of my favourite artists ever, so I still like this song. 6.9/10
Track 4. (Sound and Vision) Love the instrumental so much its just cool and catchy. Annoyingly long intro, so it doesn't leave much for David's actual singing, but that's fine. 7.2/10
Track 5. (Always Crashing in the Same Car) Cool, very David again. Not many lyrics again, mostly just instrumental, and the lyrics were lowkey random lol. 6.5/10
Track 6. (Be My Wife) I can't lie, the lyrics are just borderline dumb and don't make sense, not in a campy way but just in a bad way. I mean its not so bad, but not amazing, which is my standard for David, is probably higher than most artists. 5.4/10
Track 7. (A New Career in a New Town) Interesting instrumental, but I like it. God, why does David hardly sing in this album? His voice is something that makes his music so good and stands out. Whatever, it had so much potential, so why no singing ugh... 4/10
Track 8. (Warszawa) also... literally no lyrics... 20 words to be exact in a bloody 6 MINUTE SONG. please why are they silencing you David? Also kinda scary lol, what is he yapping about? 2/10
Track 9. (Art Decade) no. goddamn. lyrics. please im getting tired of this. also very eery, maybe I'm not cool enough for this, but whatever. 2.5/10
Track 10. (Weeping Wall) so your actually fucking with me now, likeeee no lyrics again?!?!? ok bye, girl. I get one, maybe one or two silent interludes, max 3 mintutes but this is borderline unlistenable. its giving i saw alien spaceships. 2.3/10
Track 11. (Subterraneans) yeah okay, not any better, 18 words and 5 minutes long, it's not even a good instrumental. so dissapointed tbh. bye. 3.5/10
Notes: really sad this album wasn't good, sorry not sorry I wanted it to be, and I really thought it would be getting a 5 stars, more like 1 or 2.
Final score: 4.8/10
Otis Redding

track 8. (wonderful world) beautiful. cute af. 8/10
track 9. (rock me baby) oooo this is cool. lil inappropriate but yk i guess he wants to be rocked till his back ain’t got no bones lol. 7.5/10
track 10. ((i can’t get no) satisfaction) Maybe I like the Rolling Stones one better, but for the sake of it i still love this one! 8.9/10
track 11. (you don’t miss your water) omg. 9/10
overall score: 9.8/10

Overall score: 6.2/10
Duke Ellington
2/5
Ive decided not to rate the album by individually rating each track because im not listening to 2 hours of straight jazz, but after listening to the actual songs and not the unnecessary speaking and other bits, I ended up giving it a 2 stars at most, like yes very talented mucisians but it was boring listening to, for me, the same thing over and over and over.
George Michael
4/5
Track 1. (Faith) just so iconic, love love love. 8.5/10
Track 2. (Father Figure) It is also incredibly iconic, having recently gained a massive surge of new fans on TikTok. 8.5/10
Track 3. (I Want Your Sex) Veryyy 80s bro total time captual. Not incredible, definitely a little underwhelming. 6.8/10

Track 5. (Hard Day) Good vibe. A little underwhelming. 7.5/10

Overall Score: 7.8/10
Manic Street Preachers
4/5
Track 1. (Yes) I love this 90s rock vibe, with crazy lyrics that actually have a deeper meaning. I've just finished 'Heated Rivalry,' so I'm loving the closeted gay trope right now, and I love this song. Great guitarist and drummer, totally killing it. This is the first time I've heard of this band, so it's a pretty good first impression. 8/10
Track 2. (Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayit'sworldwouldfallapart) Crazy long title, but I guess it's true, wouldn't know all the way here in little old New Zealand lol. So far, I can tell this is a very woke band, which is great. Not my favourite, I understand the lyrics, but I don't love listening to this word throw-up. Great guitarist, again. 6.8/10
Track 3. (Of Walking Abortion) Relatable intro lol. Great fucking instrumental. I feel like there is another meaning to the lyrics, but I guess I'm not smart enough to pick it up. I think it's the singer I'm not totally digging, but everything else is fine. 6.8/10
Track 4. (She Is Suffering) Finally, I differant vibe, like when an album is somewhat diverse. I think the lead singer's voice sounds a lot better in this song. Sounds a little like Deftones, which I love. Definitely my favourite so far. 8.7/10
Track 5. (Archives of Pain) Don't know what to write lol. A solid rock song. 7/10
Track 6. (Revol) 7.8/10
Track 7. (4st 7lb) I feel like this would be a good song for a superhero fight montage is that random? Most relatable lyrics ever wtf. 9.3/10
Track 8. (Mausoleum) 8/10
Track 9. (Faster) 8.7/10
Track 10. (This Is Yesterday) 7/10

Overall Score: 7.9/10

Track 2. (Jump) so fucking iconic, obviously. Song of the decade. Perfectly encapsulates the 80s. 8.5/10
Track 3 (Panama) amazing guitar and drums. Maybe more their best song but still a solid one. 7.2/10
Track 4. (Top Jimmy) same as last track, good but not ground breaking. Still very good don’t get me wrong. 7/10
Track 5. (Drop Dead Legs) love the guitar especially on this track. Not exactly groundbreaking lyrics but what do you expect from rock lol. Like it more than the previous two though. 7.9/10
Track 6. (Hot for Teacher) interesting lyrics😭 fucking great drums holy shit. 7.5
Track 7. (I’ll Wait) so 80s I love it. This song stands out for me compared to the first 6 tracks. 8.3/10
Track 8. (Girl Gone Bad) not my favourite, but still good. Feels like rushed or just a filler song. 6.8/10
Track 9. (House of Pain) of the bat love the instrumental, guitarist never disappoints. Still seems a bit filler and the vocals are totally drowning over the guitar. 6/10
Overall score: 7.4/10

Track 5. (Fast and Loose) Really great melody, love this. 8.5/10

Track 1. (This Is Music) Really great guitar, peak alternative rock. Don't think I've ever heard of this band before. 8.2/10
Track 2. (On Your Own) Like that, there is a bit of variety in this album; most rock albums blend into a boring blur. It could be boring, but not bad. 7.3/10
