Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 02 2026

I almost turned off this album because the opening skit was a little grating on me. I’m glad I didn’t though. It feels like this album was probably important in the context of the time it was released. It also feels like the band was on a lot of drugs. I was most surprised by how this album also felt a bit romantic and I'm a sucker for that.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jan 03 2026

A few recognizable hits on here, I enjoyed the short term nostalgia. Still, the songwriting on here reminds me of Elton John and the overgratuitous piano banging is just not my thing.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Jan 07 2026

I was excited that this album came up. It’s like the baby daddy of all the modern music I grew up listening to, but had never had a chance to listen to the album end to end. Some of the instruments sound a bit cheesy, but the arrangements are timeless.

Pink Flag by Wire
Jan 08 2026

Enjoyed it. I hear the punk influence, but it was melodic enough that it was easy to have playing in the background. I found this to be an easy listen even though it’s got 21 tracks. I didn’t grow up listening to much punk but with what I know now, I can hear the influences this album had on post punk.

Protection by Massive Attack
Jan 09 2026

I really thought I’d like this album more. I had a few songs from this record saved to my liked tracks on Spotify so it looked promising, but ultimately fell short. It felt like the songs went on too long and didn’t really resolve into anything. The repetitiveness of some of the songs prevented me from listening back more than twice. I found it hard to leave on in the background, it was too distracting.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Jan 23 2026

Gave it a listen but can’t say any of the songs really stuck with me. The album didn’t feel very cohesive.

Parklife by Blur
Jan 24 2026

Never listened to this album before but I had recognized the iconic album cover. I enjoyed most of the listen but there were way too many tracks on the special edition to properly digest.

Tapestry by Carole King
Feb 03 2026

Hit after hit on this album. I hadn’t really known quite how many hits Carole King had. Songs that I remembered hearing as a child are now felt as a woman. A pop album with heart and soul and truth - a true rarity.
