Disintegration by The Cure

This album has inspired my music taste a lot, and was a record which my father would listen to on repeat in the car. Robert smith has a voice which does sings to me a different way. A lot of people don’t like the dragged out instrumentals but I think it gives the record so much character. Love it

m b v by My Bloody Valentine

I love my bloody valentine but I felt as if I was just waiting for this album to be over, very little musical variation, and I know that is the whole point but it’s too much for me. Their other stuff is some of the best stuff I have heard however this one isn’t for me yet. Big fan of noise rock and shoe gaze but I’ll have to come back to this one

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jan 02 2026

Like the vibe; feels very movie like. Not my go to type of music but I like how energetic It sounds and it makes you feel some sort of way. It’s refreshing to listen to compared to pop slop. Track 2 hits

Jan 03 2026

One of my favourite albums of all time, I have listened to this album countless times before and I am still blown away at how innovative this record is to modern music today. The opening track is one of the greatest ever and the closer just somes it up perfectly for me: Amazing

The La's by The La's
Jan 03 2026

To me I was disappointed, felt like I had high expectations but to me, after listening to a Beatles album the day before; it just sounds like a blatant rip off and trying modernize the sound. Some good tracks however

Live! by Fela Kuti

Moving Pictures by Rush
Jan 05 2026

I really enjoyed this album; definitely for the most part and the beginning few tracks was a fun listen, I am not the biggest fan of the typical 80s rock sound but some of the guitar parts and synth melodies were really special. Still not an album that has blown me away but I definitely enjoyed listening to it and I may revisit in the future

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jan 09 2026

Classic rock and roll album, some good tracks that I will definitely come back to. Never really listened to much stones stuff before and I’m definitely going to listen to more.

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Jan 11 2026

I quite enjoyed this record with a lot of similarities to early oasis and britpop but also a lot of similarities to nirvana. The album didn’t blow me away as such , but there is definitely a few songs which I will be going back to.

Jan 15 2026

I love my bloody valentine but I felt as if I was just waiting for this album to be over, very little musical variation, and I know that is the whole point but it’s too much for me. Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jan 16 2026

Really enjoyed some aspects of the album and can definitely see myself coming back to some of their tracks, but can’t really see myself listening too in-depth to it. A lot of the stuff sounds like it has been done before and better. Very similar to Dylan and Petty for me. Enjoyed a lot of the guitar tones and ambience however

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jan 17 2026

What an album, this soothes everything. Intricate guitar playing and lovely lyrics, easy and quick listen. One of my favourite albums from the list. The simplicity of just the voice and guitar is so powerful. And inspiration to every singer/songwriter out there.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 19 2026

Again some good moments but nothing to initially say wow about. The first some definitely in the best to me. Started to get bored halfway through. Some of the lyrical content is interesting and did keep me engaged. However, when a song ended a new one started with the same sort of cadence and idea of the previous. Won’t be revisiting

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jan 20 2026

What a great and fun record to listen to, you can really hear the influence he had to the funk/groovey sound. Even if you have never listened to this album before, you have definitely heard a handful of the tracks off of this album. I’m not the greatest Michael Jackson fan but I can 100% appreciate his influence and how good these tracks are. For me however j do feel like around the lower middle of the album is does seem to fall off in energy and I felt like I was looking for the original energy back, but it does shine a light on his versatility

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Jan 21 2026

jumpscare music - worst shit I’ve ever heard

xx by The xx
Jan 22 2026

Had really high hopes for this, intro track is iconic but….that’s about it. Production is really dry and made me lose interest pretty quick. Maybe one or 2 songs made me interested, which then quickly faded away after I listened. Just meh, not terrible but I won’t be listening again

Jan 23 2026

Classic rap album, some nice songs on here but too long for me. Can’t listen to the same sort of beat for that long.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jan 29 2026

Straight classic rock. Not as good as some of there other works but jimmy page working his magic as usual

Jan 30 2026

Proper folky music, great on a sad rainy day. Love bobs songwriting and the voice is iconic. Will look more into his music from here

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 31 2026

Very influential album, to guitar players especially. A few filler songs however in my opinion, but the highs are very high. Not my favourite Hendrix album but definitely not the worst. Will listen again

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Feb 01 2026

Great album, felt very nostalgic and a lot of the newer artists I listen to are heavily influenced by his sound. Need to listen to more of his stuff

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Feb 03 2026

All time classic record, everything from the vocals to the guitar work to the drumming. Some really famous names in the band. Stairway to heaven is one of the best songs ever made

Aja by Steely Dan
Feb 05 2026
Smash by The Offspring
Feb 06 2026

Really enjoyed some tracks of this record. Not the biggest fan of the punk genre but I liked how accessible this was. However again the biggest downfall is all the songs sound nearly exactly the same. Some even in the same key as the last. Put maybe that’s just punk. I can pick out a few songs to listen but won’t be doing a full album listen again

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Feb 07 2026

Great album, great voice. So many songs which I come back to on this record. Amazing for the time. Don’t know how he plays the guitar and sings like that at the same time

Feb 08 2026

I sort of have a soft spot for dance music like this but after listening to all of that, all I can say is that I’m extremely bored of hearing the same thing again and again with these artists. This is definitely an album I could do without listening to before I die. Be more creative please

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Feb 10 2026

Good classic album with some very high highs, but a good few lows. Not there best album in my eyes. But the Gallery and Sultans of swing are some really good songs

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Feb 14 2026

Really good soulful and fun record. Basslines are the highlight: didn’t know that Kendrick Lamar sample was track 1 either

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Feb 16 2026

Another rap album that I ultimately just find quite boring. Some good songs that I may add to a playlist but won’t listen to album again

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Feb 18 2026

One of the easiest dance/ electronic albums I have listened to. Love the breakbeats and the prodigy type production. Few fun fills and vocal stabs too to keep it interesting. Unfortunately not much variety but still an enjoyable listen
