Imagine being the Rolling Stone reviewer, one of the first mainstream critics to hear Franklin at full power, who sniped about the drummer not being particularly good...

Amazing how much of this I remember. 4

I've never been massively sold on Young and his contemporaries, and this album didn't move the needle for me. Woodstock is a classic obviously.

Hmm. Bad? Clearly riffing on their betters (the first track sounds very close to Father and Son, and a lot of the rest sounds like Neil Young processed through a 90s chillout soundboard)

I hate to say it, but this was a little TOO daft and not enough punk.

Never listened to something so schizophrenically produced yet so profoundly boring.

Fun! A bit repetitive.

It's not my cup of tea but it's a fantastically original piece of craft for its time
