Love the instrumentation like the bass and drums. Perfect for long road trips, windows down blasting in the car. A bit repetitive lyrics, but good melodies.
Intro is simple, short, with light strings. So far into the third track the album is very storytelling driven. The sound is perfect for a day out in the country by an outside fireplace. Also great music for a sleeping playlist (not necessarily a bad thing at all.) Standouts: America, Overs, Mrs Robinson. Good compilation of folk tracks, however would not revisit on a casual day.
Appreciate the artistry but this album is not my cup of tea, it has too much of that country twang for me, and i wanted the album to end the entire time while listening through. You could imagine your older aunt waltzing around her living room with a glass of wine while blasting this on her radio. Found Joplin’s voice to be grating at times, and most of the songs started blending in with each other with little to no standouts. Highlights: None. Would not revisit this album at all, but i do understand why some people may like this record as it does have a few redeeming qualities. I give this a 1,5/5
The music is great, sounds like something that would play in a quiet, expensive bar. Also good music to put on while you make love to someone. There are some standouts on this album such as “Whats going on” and “Come Get To This” i absolutely adore the instrumentation throughout this record, however some of the songs were blending in with each other and i couldnt tell the difference between them, i was also expecting a little more.
Phenomenonal. Maybe its because im biased about this certain genre of music, but i absolutely loved almost every song on this record and i feel like im gonna return to this one more often. There were maybe 2 songs that werent my favorite however they were not bad by any means. Highlights: Girls&Boys, Parklife, Bank Holiday, To The End, This is a Low.
Sounds a bit dated but i definitely feel like this album could have lots of replay value for me, its got that kind of style in music that i love, its this kind of hiphop rapping form, that being said i already really like this album even from the first track but i could totally see it growing on me more. This is perfect for when you’re angry at something and you wanna blast music in your room, and also when you wanna blast music in your car. Highlights: Rhymin & Stealin, She’s Crafty, Posse in Effect, Fight for Your Right. There were two really bad songs “Girls” and “Paul Revere”. The track “Girls” sounds like it came straight off the mario kart theme song. But besides that, its overall a great album, totally worth checking out.
Its fine, personally i would not play this on my own time but i would play it maybe while i’m studying. I prefer other jazz artists and songs but i appreciate this one as well. Favs: Blueberry Hill, So Long.
I’m BORED. Bland instrumentals definitely Coldplay inspired. Not completely unlistenable and not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be, but it sounds like music made to be played in the background and i lost interest half way through the album. On the positive side I really liked the intro track “Words”, the melody was interesting, and also the closing track “Caught By The River” had somewhat interesting lyrics, also the album cover is cool. The songs drag on for a bit too long for what their lengths are smh this could’ve been an email.
Another 80s mediocre album. There's not much to say about this one except that the lyrics were extremely corny and the synths were bad. Sex Dwarf did not need to be 5 minutes long, there no standouts at all on this album except for maybe tainted love, don't waste your time on this record.
This album has everything that I love in one. It has good base, sick guitar rifts, and interesting melodies. The drums and the guitar rift on the song "Heartbreaker" are so good, its arguably my favorite song on the record. Some highlights of mine are "What Is and What Should Never Be", "The Lemon Song", "Thank You", "Heartbreaker". The first half of the record is in my opinion stronger than the second, however the second half has its great moments as well such as "Moby Dck" which is fully an instrumental, and "Bring it On Home" which starts off as a slow song but halfway through switches up. I give this album a light 5.
This album is pretty meh. There were two songs that kind of stood out on here, the rest sounde like a copy of the previous song before it. Not revisiting this album again for sure. I cant give it a 1 because there were moments that i liked, but overall boring album. Highlights: Square, Human Being.
For this being my first psb album, i enjoyed it i thought it was decent. By the end of the album however, i did start to notice the songs starting to sound repetitive with the synths. "Being Boring" the opening track might become one of my current favorite songs i loved that track, and "To Face The Truth" although it wasnt the most sonically interesting track, I loved the lyrics. Some of my highlights are the ones i previously mentioned above and "My October Symphony" because i loved the backing vocals. This is a perfect album for autumn and drinking hot chocolate while reminiscing on every mistake you’ve done your whole life.
3,3/5
