Stoking the flames of rebellion and injustice still 34+ years later. A pivotal album addressing the hypocrisy of modern society and government, it's upsetting that the themes of the album are still so relevant 3 decades later
Still a gorgeously soulful singer even almost 60 years later. An uplifting album of humanity and relationships. Chain of Fools will go down as a forever classic
Nice album mixing hiphop and that chilled out grungy sound of the 90s. Uncertain if this is the album that kick started the triphop genre, but definitely still great after 30 years. Overall not as enjoyable as Mezzanine for me, but Five Man Army and Hymn of the Big Wheel stand out as phenomenal songs
A very excellent rock album! I appreciate the fusion of traditional African music and western rock. Did not resonate with me fully on the first listen, likely due to all the songs being in the artists native language, but that is a me problem
Hey look it's pop-punk! American Idiot made a big impact on my high school life, but never actually listened to this album before. Good album and really resonates with those angsty/melancholic feelings without getting bogged down into depression. Not necessarily my style but a good listen nonetheless!
Impressive how full of a sound you can get with just 2 very talented musicians! A banger of an album, and Seven Nation Army will go down in history as a forever classic. Listened to this album quite a bit when it first came out, but not really something that is part of my regular listening anymore.
Is rock n roll! Decent album, relatively heavy by the standards of the day when it released. Not going to be entering my regular listening, but any enjoyable experience nonetheless
Wasn't really into MBV or emo music when it came out and it seems my tastes have not changed. More ambient/shoegaze than I'd prefer
Heck yeah that was a nice album
Well slap me sideways this was an incredible album. Beautiful vocals. Simultaneously fun, soulful, emotional and gorgeous. Song structure kinda reminds me of Meatloaf. Had to listen to it again after finish it since it was so good!
Objectively good but really wasn't to my tastes today. Full of that 80s flair and synth. Reminds me of Bowie although I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I probably just got triggered by that statement
Honestly it was a struggle for me to finish this one. Seems to me like music you listen to when you want to be an elitist and lord your superior intelligence over others who listen to that "formulaic pop music drivel".
Math/prog rock. I see you but aint necessarily for me.
Great album! Thoroughly enjoy this. Nice fusion of African influence, blues, jazz and funk
Haha fun. Decent album. Great working tunes
Very fun album! I enjoy the rich baritone of the vocals and the mix of energies from the various songs. Would listen to again.
Excellent album, although not something I will regularly add to my listening rotation.
Foreplay/Long Time is a forever classic. I have nostalgic attachment to this album and still think it's a dang good piece of art.
Nice, I think overall I enjoy this album more than Elephant, but Elephant has Seven Nation Army...
Very good album. Always was a QotSA fan but only listened to Songs for the Deaf for the most part. Would definitely add to the rotation!
Nice folksie singer/songwriter stuff. Reminds me of Rodriguez (who of course came later but still...)
Enjoyable but I like my music a little more energetic as a whole
I tried but couldn't muster up the desire to finish this album. It's... fine just not for me
I tried with this one but this is probably for musicians more knowledgeable than I to enjoy. It feels like a noise project with jam band and jazz influences. Couldn't make it past the first track, although I did listen to it's entirety
Kinda fun psychedelic journey. Enjoyable and might give it another listen in the future
Heck yeah. Black Magic Woman is a forever classic
Great hip hop album. Can I Kick It is a classic
Seems kinda like proto-White Stripes. If Jack White wasnt influenced by this album I'd be surprised! Decent but not my cup of tea on average.
