Rapid rating based on the track listing and the shit ton of Beatles I listened to way back in the day. Solid theme album, with their best song period at the end. Not quite a high end Zep or Floyd 5, but a 5 nonetheless.
I like Radiohead. They're unique and adventurous. But this album was a bit too different at times for too long. A few really good songs. A few decent listens. But another 3.
Brought me back to the days when Kris and I would slam dance for hours at all night raves.
Love the 2 songs I already knew, Lucretia My Reflection and This Corrosion. The rest was a mix of minor hits and misses. Reminded me of Kris and I in our Goth phase.
I was not familiar with this artist. Enjoyable listen. I was hoping it would be more Talking Headsish but it was jazzy.
Oh boy where to start? I was thinking late 70s punk, it's gotta be good! No, it wasn't. At least they tried?
I was familiar with several War hits but this was my first deep dive into one of their albums. Very enjoyable listen overall. But some songs were a bit too long and/or too mellow for my liking. My 2 favorite War songs, Spill the Wine and Low Rider, are not on this album.
I had this CD way back in the day and listened to it quite a bit for a while. It was unique and fun at the time but it's not something I kept going back to. Certainly not as good and rich as some of the old Simon and Garfunkel tunes.
Love the Pixies. Several of my favorite Pixies song, like Where is My Mind and Monkey Gone to Heaven, aren't on this album. Velouria is a great tune and this album was a good listen overall. Solid 3.
I liked the songs I had already heard. I liked how raw the band is on others, but the others were a mix of hits and misses. An OK 3.
Love REM. However, this isn't one of my favorite REM albums. And Stand is one of my least favorite REM songs. Low 3.
Love the Pixies. Several of my favorite Pixies song, like Where is My Mind and Monkey Gone to Heaven, aren't on this album. Velouria is a great tune and this album was a good listen overall. Solid 3.
Sensing a common theme. Love the artist .... but. Maybe I'm not a deep diver? High 3 because it's Jimi.
I was not at all familiar with this album so decided to give it a whirl. After all, it's Queen. And Queen was awesome. Seemed like a band still figuring stuff out. Like "we're on our way to the amazing Bohemian Rhapsody but not." Most songs could have used more of the amazing vocals of Freddie Mercury. An average 3.
A really nice listen. Didn't have a tall tropical drink in hand, but should have. Only a few songs I had heard before, and doesn't have some of my favorites, but a solid 3.
Amazing album by an amazing band. Saw them play in McNichol's Arena way back in the day. This album was their apex. They had some great stuff prior to it, then declined after it.
Not my favorite Zep album but it gets a 4 because it's Zep. The Immigrant Song is a great hockey song.
Had this on CD and enjoyed it immensely. Cobain was a legendary talent. Loved the cover of Bowie's The Man Who Sold the World.
Great album by a great and influential band. My favorite tracks are Heroin and Venus in Furs.
