1001 Albums Summary

Better than I expected but not my type I can listen to for so many songs back to back

I appreciate him immensely as a musician but I dont know style enough to see if this album was impressive

If you want this specific style of sound, each song is solid. Half stars would be good on this site but it's not a five star album so it's getting lumped in with lesser albums

Ok turns out i know this band from the radio. First song is pretty good but either not my style or was overplayed. Feels like this album was made out of or with the goal of money, not passion

Opening thought an unexpected hip-hop inspired album with potential. But then the songs started and I wish it was more just clean vocals without trying to play with beats because whatever this is does not work for me. The fan song was embarrassing that it was only compliments saying how great she is on her own album. Can't wait to review this as my least favorite album so far

Nostalgic for me from our lifelong record collection. Side A mostly, must not have flipped it often. All are pretty good minus 1 or 2.

It's fine but don't really get into it. Expected more from radiohead. Rounding up to make it 3 stars

So the album and everything about it before opening it suggests its rock, hard rock maybe. But im assuming this is the definition of a rock opera. Its good for the type of music I think, only 7 songs? But not for me. I would be annoyed if someone put this on for a road trip

How did this get sorted into the wrong list? It's 1991, none of this is unique or a debut of a huge global band ive ever heard of. Glimmer of hope with song Blue Lines. You get a star and you get a- no that's it. One star

It's very good but side B is basically instrumental which i think the album could have been better without

Each song begins great then you realize you're about to listen to the same lyrics or instrument pattern for the rest of the 5 minutes. Every song does this.

Maggot brains and Back in our Minds (not on mono headphones) I really enjoyed. Last song lost me

Good slow burn

All the songs are great and you can tell their impact on the genre just by these songs coming out in 77

First real song gave me very high expectations but feels like they ran out of ideas throughout and tried too hard to be weird. Started it at 5 stars for me, how did it fail?

Perfect mix of songs with a couple being a different style which makes it better. 5/5

I knew the name more than I thought i knew their genre evidentally. Good music, easy to think over for background music. 4

Im tired of it all sounding the same and some instrumental but it is good just let me listen to one song every few shuffles on a playlist. Full album was too much. 2

5 stars the first few hundred times i listened to it, and today it was still 5 stars. Who woulda thought.

Its the Beatles, had high expectations and none of these songs are ones ill go out of my way to listen to. Definitely an experimental album knowing their other albums. 3

I dont get why I'm listening to this- oh they sing we are family. That made the album worth putting in the top 1000 right 2

Its good, not particularly unique but its good

I dont get it

What a song to start the album with but the change of sound to kiss off is almost better. Blister in the sun shows they can play and someone in the studio knows what they are doing. The rest of the songs show the band knows what they're doing.

Lots of classics/ covers in this and maybe I just don't recognize some. Very different sound from the originals i know but all of them sound great.

Expected more, this can't be their best album. 2

The definition of true talent, I just happened to not care much for songs

Im not sure what came first but there are some popular songs from that era that use these riffs. I like it
