Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 02 2026

Tombstone shadow: I like the existential dread and needing to go on vacation for 13 months and not fly in a plane Sinister purpose, bad moon rising apocalyptic themes

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 03 2026

Open all night, I love songs with one strong melody that just repeat for three minutes. I feel the loneliness with the stripped back recordings, but the muddiness with some vocals does take me out sometimes. Melodies are not as strong as they need to be for such a simple song. Highway patrolman was great and sad about the Bros. Couple of songs about pimping out your girlfriend are extra deprived

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Apr 06 2026

Diminuendo and crescendo was a joyful 15 minutes was so fun, skin deep drum solo ripped. Took until the fourth piece to really get going, did not love festival Junction.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Apr 07 2026

Still a classic. Paul’s bass is noticeably better than previous albums. What goes on slaps one of Ringo’s best vocals.

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Apr 08 2026

Unnerving but very sexy album, black steel is an all-time great song

Sincere by Mj Cole
Apr 09 2026

Is there something I’m missing here? The only information on the Wikipedia page is that this album is on the thousand and one albums. Does the producer know a guy? The one beat across the whole album is infectious and some of the vocals are ear wormy. I don’t see this as being very influential. It does not light a fire to make me dance, but I do feel very cool listening to it.

Rio by Duran Duran

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis

As a jazz band kid, I appreciate the virtuosic musicianship and how fucking fun their recordings all sound to be a part of. Will I sit down and listen to this more than once any couple years? Probably not but Ijazz band kid, I appreciate the virtuosic musicianship and how fucking fun they’re recordings all sound to be a part of. Will I sit down and listen to this more than once any couple years? Probably not but I understand it’s importance to Jazz/fusion history.

Do I understand this is good, the vibes are good, and did I feel super cool driving around listening to it? All yes. Did I connect with any song emotionally at all? Not really (Tim Robinson voice)
