Possibly the first time I remember feeling that i had found music of my own, rather than that of my parents. Still a hero to me and this album has to be a highlight to anyone growing up during the period of glam rock. Favourite track: Get it On (still rocks today 😎)

A solid debut from The Cars but probably not my favourite album of theirs. Still a decent effort, with an album cover that I still love. Favourite track: Just What I Needed

Holy Cow...how did i miss this one first time around??? Mercury prize winner, multi platinum sales, a true classic of it's genre. Cannot claim to really understand what "trip-hop" is, but this album certainly takes you on some kinda late night trip. Beth Gibbons voice is sublime and the music sounds wonderfully authentic. Pour me another whiskey and turn the lights down low....bliss Favourite track: Sour Times

Was never into prog-rock, so Rush and others similar passed me by. That said having listened to 2112 there is no disputing the musicianship, the drumming in particular had me sitting up and taking stock. Wasn't a fan of the vocals however but that's just personal taste. Favourite track: 2112 Overture

Judging from the reviews TWS are very much Marmite and certainly not to everyone's taste. With an open mind I listened to this album for the first time having only previously heard My Doorbell. It started strong with the track Blue Orchard but sadly went down hill thereafter and left me wondering what all the hype was about. Not for me. Favourite track: Blue Orchid

For such a massive selling album I was surprised to see so many harsh reviews. On listening I can see why some would say the album is too long and be critical on the lack of change in tempo (except for the final track) That said, I would still put this on with a drink in hand and just let it flow over me and not feel nauseous. No denying Bitter Sweet Symphony is an earworm but Come On was the only track that got me sitting up in my chair. F
