1001 Albums Summary

Never got into Metallica. Ten years too young. Don't think it dates too well but there is a definite Metallica sound. The only one I know is Enter Sandman. Couldn't tell you much about them.

Great! Daft, funny lyrics. Bit different to my usual go to listening. Must have been an administrative nightmare getting the clearance on all the samples.

Thin voice, sonically flat. Not my jam this one.

Their lyrics are miserable and I doubt I will ever choose to listen to Slipknot. It's not for me and I never really understood the appeal, even as a moody teenager with an axe to grind. BUT they created a new sound and pushed boundaries and I admire the musicianship, their unique image and the fact they did things on their own terms, so for that reason they get a two star.

Some great singles and the album has aged well.

3.5. Started strong. Some great singles. Quite enjoyed it. Sounds very mid 90s and can hear how it was influenced and influenced others.

Second half better than the first. Prefer his ambient stuff which is superior to his forgettable pop stuff.

Great album. Lots of memories singing these bangers in sticky clubs and at OT. Still sounds good but there are also a couple of duds on there.

Good album. Would probably be a four with a few more listens but I'm woefully behind so haven't the time.

I liked this more than I thought and hadn't realised I knew more of her singles already. Good album, tunes lyrics.

First band I went to see... In my head they opened with Charlie Big Potato... I remember the energy, excitement and musicianship. As an album, I'm not sure it really stands up over time but great at the time. And Skin OBE has got a great, unique voice.

I'd have liked it more without his overly weird vocals. Generally forgettable music. He should mix up his drum machine beats a bit. Maybe I'm missing the point.
