1001 Albums Summary

Really consistant acoustic folk sound throughout. Fast Car and Mountains O Things were my favs. Surprised by the heartfelt social justice themes. It was nice to hear music about that instead of bragging about being rich and consumerist in today's pop and rock.

Perhaps the most iconic opening bar of the 20th century. I don't think I had actively listened to any of the other songs before although I've probably heard them over the years. Overall a solid and consistent experience, like there's nothing that would suddenly take you out of the moment if you were playing this at a party (or makeout sesh).

I appreciate Björks unmatched ecclecticism and creative vision. She transcends music to truly be a multimedia artist. But I am a bit baffled how so many of these songs charted so well at the time.

The famous songs are famous for a reason. The songs I managed to never hear in my first three decades of life are also never played for a reason. More sitar, please!!

Cool artists are the best tool the Left has. 🤘 We need more!

Smashing Pumpkins is my favorite band....this album is just so good. I listened two it three times while I picked up trash.

The epitome of rock n roll, but Brian Johnson's voice is exhausting to listen to for an entire album.

So much of this album sounds like you are shopping in Ross Dress for Less.

It sounds ahead of its time, like I would have placed it as mid-80s. But still, I think you had to be there to appreciate it?

A lot of song elements remind me of the Beatles, actually. You'd never guess that if Wonderwall was the extent of it.

I kept thinking, "Wait, this is the Rolling Stones??" I had no idea they were so rockabilly.

This band is completely new to me, and a fun one!

East coast rap, very cool. I can hear where Lin Manuel Miranda gets it.

Foo Fighters are the essence of rock. Timeless.

I admire the creativity. It felt very dada cabaret, cinematic almost.
