Obviously the guitar solos are amazing. Some of the slower songs have kinda whiny vocals. The organ and harmonica solos in You Shook Me are very cool. Some songs, like Dazed and Confused as well as How Many More Times, are a bit much for me. Overall fun to listen to.
Brought back so many good memories. I used to listen to this album a lot in the early 2010s and it definitely had an impact on my music taste as a teenager. I'd forgotten about songs like These Days and Everlasting Light. Nice!
I don't really know how to explain it but I just don't really like listening to R.E.M... I just find it kinda boring? Like, when a song ends, I just forget I heard it. I think it's cause I feel like the songs just don't "go anywhere". Hard to get through this one.
Some of the sounds are quite cool. But it's not an album I would ever just put on. But I can appreciate some of what they were trying to do.
Already knew several of these songs, but this time I listened to the whole album in one go. I find the vocals too whiny, and the songs seem to go on too long (had to skip some part way through).
Really enjoyed listening to it!!
Intrigued by the first song. Loved the second song and third was good too. Then some of the slow songs were too slow or repetitive. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this album and will probably listen to it again sometime but skip a few songs. Don't Cry is a fun song.
I had never actually listened to the Grateful Dead before, and I enjoyed listening to this album more than I expected. None of the songs particularly stood out to me, and I'm not sure I'll come back to it, but it was still a nice listen.
I feel pressured to rank this highly due to its reputation... but I just didn't love listening to it. Some of the songs are nice, and the ones I recognized are indeed cool, but I'm just not sure it's the album for me. I skipped a few songs but enjoyed others. It was gonna be 2 stars but the album ending with Salt of the Earth (great tune) raises it to 3 stars.
Not for me, but can appreciate what they've done on this album. Just can't listen to the whole thing, gives me a headache. One Step Closer is a good rage song and of course In The End is quite cool.
Not sure if I was just in a bad mood today, but this album did nothing for me. Sure, some of the harmonica parts were kinda cool, but overall I have already forgotten all of these songs.
Cool album
First song was cool, then didn’t bother with the rest
