Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears

What a magical experience this album is. There is not a single song on here that I felt didn't belong. It feels like a musical tour of the 80s and everything special about the music of that time. Will definitely be getting many more plays from me in the future.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 23 2026

So Far Away and Money For Nothing were an instant hit for me. Walk of Life is also memorable, though more so for the music video rather than the song itself. The album got a bit drawn out in the middle but picked up again once it got to Man's Too Strong. Brothers in Arms is a beautiful conclusion to the album and has some wonderful guitar work. The only Dire Straits song I had heard previously was Sultans of Swing, but listening to this album has enticed me to explore their other works.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Jun 24 2026

Really good alt rock album, though it did get a little samey towards the end. Personal favorites were Celebrity Skin, Malibu, and Use Once and Destroy.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jun 25 2026

I honestly enjoy Bowie's later work more, but this was still an enjoyable listen and a great foray into his early experimental work. Always love Changes, and Kooks, Andy Warhol, and Queen Bitch were some of my other favorites.

Doolittle by Pixies
Jun 26 2026

I didn't like this album the first time I listened to it, but I gave it a second chance here and I've come around on it. Lots of interesting songs like Debaser and Gouge Away sprinkled in with classics like Here Comes Your Man and Monkey Gone to Heaven. I can see now why this put the Pixies on the map. It gets one star off from me though for the awful song that is Tame. It's literally just Frank screaming "tame" for a minute and I hesitate to even call it a song.

I just so happened to listen to this album for the first time a few weeks ago but wasn't too blown away. Giving it a second listen now though, I'm really impressed with how many different directions it goes in while still having that iconic early 2000s rock sound. Really enjoy Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia, and Map of the Problematique is a personal favorite. Unfortunately the album starts to get a bit stale after Assassin and doesn't really pick up again until Knights, which is why I can't give this a 5.

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
Jul 01 2026

This is a metal album? It sounds like every other rock album from the 60s but even more generic. Idk much better stuff from this time period in my opinion.

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Jul 02 2026

I don't hate folk music, but after a certain point I just get tired of it because there's not much that changes from song to song. This album is no different to me, I was into it when I first turned it on but I just got bored of it halfway through. I didn't hate the album though and I might try listening to it again sometime down the line.

Maxinquaye by Tricky

A few good songs on here but it just doesn't do much for me. Guess I'm not a trip hop guy.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jul 06 2026

This album makes me feel like I'm taking a long drive through a picturesque countryside. There are so many beautiful, melancholic songs here to just get lost in and enjoy. Favorite Tracks: Hazey Jane II ✔ At the Chime of a City Clock ✔ One of These Things First ✔ Hazey Jane I ✔ Bryter Layter ✔ Fly ✔ Poor Boy ✔ Northern Sky ✔ Sunday ✔

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Jul 08 2026
The Bends by Radiohead
Jul 13 2026

I'm not sure why I haven't listened to Radiohead all that much. I've only heard good things about them and the few songs I have listened to I enjoyed. This album is my first actual foray into their work, and every single song had me hooked and wanting more. Favorite Tracks: Planet Telex ✔ The Bends ✔ High and Dry ✔ Fake Plastic Trees ✔ Bones ✔ (Nice Dream) ✔ Just ✔ My Iron Lung ✔ Bullet Proof..I Wish I Was ✔ Black Star ✔ Sulk ✔ Street Spirit (Fade Out) ✔

Is This It by The Strokes
Jul 14 2026

Classic post-punk album that everyone should listen to (and probably already has). I really enjoy how energetic the album is even with its simple riffs and lyrics. Favorite Tracks: Is This It ✔ The Modern Age ✔ Soma ✔ Barely Legal ✔ Someday ✔ Alone, Together ✔ Last Nite ✔ Hard to Explain ✔ New York City Cops ✔ Trying Your Luck ✔ Take It or Leave It ✔

Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam & The Ants
Jul 15 2026

I was on board for the first few songs, but it just got it worse and worse song after song. I stopped taking it seriously once I heard "Ant music for sex people. Sex music for ant people." What a horrible listening experience. Favorite Tracks: Dog Eat Dog ✔ Antmusic ✔ Feed Me to The Lions ✔
