1001 Albums Summary

First half is tough to listen to. 2nd half is a mix of hits that were previously released.

This is so much more impressive than I ever had considered her to be in the past. Incredible voice and lyrics with an unusual and unique set of song structures. Love her contralto.

I really dug the first track. That's a really fun 60s psychedelic number. Even listened to it on repeat a few times. Unfortunately that was it for me. Didn't like any of the rest. I appreciate a good backstory and I know this album has one but this is a complete mess.

First half four out of five. Second, half six out of five.

This seems very rooted in the '90s and I can see how it influenced a lot of really good later artists. I like it but I don't love it. I'm probably not the Target demographic that would love this album though. Fuck and run is pretty great.

Wow. I forgot about that Scooby snack song otherwise I hate this and want my time back but I guess it made a lot of sense back in 1996. It feels extremely random that this made the list lol

The 4th best of the Stones incredible 4 album run. The least consistent of those records, but the high moments are incredible

Perfection. One of the greatest debut albums in the history of rock and roll. I wish they could have sustained that greatness.

This is a solid 2000s indie album that just doesn't stand out to me. Like it, don't love it.

A great big dumb rock and roll album. The riffs and musicianship is as amazing as the lyrics are stupid. Still....this is just so much fun. One of the best and biggest early heavy metal influencing albums. Highway star is an all time great album opener.

As close to perfect as it gets. Nude/arpeggi/all I need is one of the all time 3 song runs.

I can't do this. I don't even like he supposedly good Smit's records. Morrissey grates on my skull.

So for me this has been my personal favorite zep album because of the diversity of styles and genres and the showcase of actual songwriting talent. I love it when an artist takes risks and it pans out. Celebration, friends, tangerine, and that's the way are 4 of LZ's great deep cuts. That's not to mention the sheer power of immigrant song and Plants vocal performance on since I've been loving you. Gallows pole and bron yar stomp are awesome foot stomping hand clappers . 5/5.
