1001 Albums Summary

I knew all the big songs on the album but had never listened to any of the rest of it. I give this album a B....it starts off good and even the end songs are good but 28 songs that sound a lot a like is a lot to listen to in one sitting. The album is good but I do not think I will need to revisit it

Album made me think of a time where you would pour a glass of your choice , put on a record and just have it play while you relaxed. The musicianship was great, not really something I normally would have chosen but it was very good.

I had the great misfortune to get both Green Day Albums within 3 days of each other. American Idiot is a god awful album trying to be a rock opera while also trying to be political with no real juice behind it. Dookie on the other hand is the remembrance of what we all want to believe Green Day was ever again or still are. Dookie was not as great as I remember it was when I would steal the cassette from my brother and cosplay an angsty teen who was just yelling without saying much. The well known songs still bang and the others are fine. The older I get the more Green Day just sounds like a band trying so hard to be and pretend they are better bands. Armstrong wanted to be the Sex Pistols so bad he even tries to have a british accent. Green Day is more of a group of characters than a band we should legitimize, if I hadnt given American Idiot a 2 I would have given this that but since its clearly better than that horse feces I give it a 3

minus 1 point for inspiring Nirvana ( even though much rather listen to this) Not something I would have seeked out but enjoyed listening to it for just this one time

When I decided to do this exercise this was why I wanted to do it to hear albums I would never have known existed nevertheless listened to. The music is great, guitars rock and even without understanding a word they say the lyrics draw you in. Very glad I was able to find this album

Not a bad album but very long for 6 songs, not really a jam band kinda person. but can hear the talent

I don't know what U2 did to ever be discussed as a great band. I understand Irish people getting behind them to an extent, but they are not good and somehow they are regarded as an all time great. If I never heard another U2 song in my life nothing in my life would change for the worse. Of course they have a couple catchy songs that everyone knows but musicianship, talent and just being a good band overall lacks, while somehow constantly being praised. I know the reason but can't believe enough people continue to push the propaganda of them being a great band. Anyway average album that everyone else will say is great because you have to, but I am here to tell you you dont have to. You can tell the world they suck one person at a time and start your own reviolution

i like kacey, think her music is good, but another album that does not need to be on the all time list of albums. it was good for what it was but it is not genre changing, music shaping but it was good

this is exactly what i thought this would be but have no idea how this got nominated nevertheless beat out Full Moon Fever or the traveling wilburys for album of the year. Also there is no way this is one of the 1001 albums someone has to listen to. Its not awful but it is not great it is just what it is
