In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jul 16 2026

I do quite like jazz, but I don’t appreciate it nearly enough to give it an honest rating. I do know Davis is one of the greats though

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jul 17 2026

Honestly, liked this more than I thought. Never listened to it back to front like this, actually liked it heaps more than I’d thought. Far more justified to buy it on vinyl now!

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jul 20 2026

Definitely not my thing. Her voice is pretty annoying, and she goes from preaching a poor bible life to slut shaming pretty quickly. Songs get catchier towards the end of the album, but still not much of a fan

2112 by Rush
Jul 21 2026

20min first song is pretty crazy but also pretty on brand. Not my favourite genre of music, but anyone with ears would have to accept that this album fucks. Sweet instrumentals, must have been trendsetting as this sounds like quintessential 80's rock, yet its late 70's.

Guero by Beck
Jul 22 2026

Lots of funky alt fun. Enjoyed this, my kinda stuff tbf. Cool riffs and smooth vocals. Lots to like

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jul 23 2026

So surprising this is their 7th studio album, I don't know them at all but that seems very far into a career. Thought it was cool for sure, mega 80's/90's, but besides enjoy the silence (which bangs), it leaves a bit to be desired

Jul 24 2026

Obviously reeks of high-class production. SO put together. Kanye is just so obviously talented. Haaaate Nicki Minaj though. Kinda crazy this album is over 16 years old. Definitely didn't listen to it in 2010 hahaha

xx by The xx
Jul 27 2026

Actually liked this album a bit less than I thought I would. Plucky pop, but it seems to be missing something that I think later XX albums have. So probably more on me for going into it with the wrong expectations, but still. Didn't dislike it, but yeah, didn't rate it as highly as I thought.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 28 2026

Have heard of these guys, but never listened till now. Cool vibes, I liked Monitor. Album didn't blow me away, but still liked it overall.

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Jul 29 2026

Didn't love it. Had some good moments but drifted a bit too hard into the punk/grunge side for me to really connect with it. Fairly hard core for what was labelled just alternative. Didn't hate it, just not my favourite genre.

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Jul 30 2026

Not gonna lie this was not what I expected. I thought it was really cool. Funky, easy listening music, would study to this album ngl. Could also see it being used in montage clips for a 90's early 00's spy movie. Pleasantly surprised by this album!

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jul 31 2026

I imagine this had some cult status in the 70's. Pretty enjoyable listening, considering it's from '68 too. The mastering (at least on Apple Music) is incredible, and you can tell they're having fun with the fact its stereo. Overall I actually liked it a fair amount. Not stuff I'd listen to every other day, but I can respect the curation of their image/sound and that at the time this would have been aaaawesome

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Aug 03 2026

One of the most iconic starts to an album of all time. Pure sex. The rest of the album is also just so much funky fun. I think I will get it on Mr. Gaye.

1984 by Van Halen
Aug 04 2026

Why hello synth, the album name is incredibly apt. This album just sounds so 80's haahah. I actually knew the first song though which was surprising, definitely in some movie I'd seen. A really short album, 9 songs and only just over half an hour. A fun sound, but not really my thing. Some very cool riffs/lyrics at points.

Tank Battles by Dagmar Krause
Aug 05 2026

This wasn't on Apple Music, so I couldn't listen to it officially. Found what I think is the album on YouTube. Only lasted about 5 minutes. Its this poppy upbeat German almost musical theatre performance. She genuinely seems to be just talking. Not for me.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Aug 06 2026

This is actually a pretty awesome album. Mega sick vibes, 100% can tell these guys did a looooot of drugs and looked cool doing them. I feel like king gizz took a fair bit of influence from here. Overall quite enjoyed!

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 07 2026

First time I've actually listened to Amy Winehouse. Hot take, don't love her voice. It's quite impressive in moments and then a bit grating in others. Don't hate it, don't love it. Some songs would be a 1/5, some are closer to a 4. The less she scats the better.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Aug 10 2026

I imagine if I was really high in the 80's this would sound awesome. Unfortunately I'm sitting at my desk in my dimly lit office (another brick in the wall if you will). This doesn't really speak to me at all. I'm sure it was really groundbreaking for the time, but unfortunately I just mega don't care. Absolutely hated the song mother. Honestly don't know if I'll finish listening to this album it was just a bit eh

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Aug 11 2026

Really liked this! I've listened to the White Stripes before, but never anything from this album. Really stripped back, kinda almost blues rock, but still super clean. I love two piece bands that sound bigger than they are. I was so sure they were brother and sister growing up hahaha so googling them and seeing they dates was a shock for a sec. Respect Jack for taking Megs last name, a real one for sure, bet they've never been involved in any kind of scandal!

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Aug 12 2026

Like but not love for this album. Massive attack have a very cool vibe, but I just am consistantly surprised at how little I like their music. It seems like stuff I'd love, but there often on most songs feels like there is something missing. Can't really put my finger on it, maybe its just not for me.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Aug 13 2026

Sounds like if Paul Kelly was American and wanted to off himself. I do like a harmonica, but the American accent doesn't accompany it in the way an Australian one does. First time listening to Springsteen, don't really see the hype, although it is obviously there. His voice is pretty annoying and so pro-Americana its sickening.

Aug 14 2026

Very easily digestible rock (not sure if I can call it Indie). If I grew up on this I'd probs love it I reckon. But I didn't, and honestly after the whole Apple U2 album fiasco I'm pretty off their whole vibe. This actually sounds incredibly modern for having come out in '87, respect.

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Aug 17 2026

Pretty sick, can't lie. These guys did Smoke On the Water too, respect. Unfortunately for some of the songs, to my uncultured ears at least, it just sounds like noise. Some are mega cool, but overall not a massive fan

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 18 2026

I mean the damn band is called funkadelic, its gonna be funky. Funny for a ~30min EP the first song is 10mins hahaha. Liked this! Funky, groovy.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. Can really appreciate the guitars, and also the fact this came out in '77. Some songs sound really fun, some kind of droning and sometimes intelligible. They sound oddly aussie at points hahaha. I do like the song critiquing the monarchy.
