Don't love that they use the R-Slur in Jesus of Suburbia.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams still gives me chills though. That opening feels so ominous and achy.
One song left so I figured I'd wrap up my thoughts and as always, I enjoyed this album. It's truly a classic. I love anti-establishment in music. Its always a BOP.
Immediately, I love it. 2 minutes in and its a BOP!
Little umbrellas made me a lil sleepy.... its taking a chiller tone which is totally fine but also its like 10 am on a workday and I havent slept well this week so not helping. haha
I keep finding myself wiggling and groovin' :)
Overall, hot rats was great... a nice instrumental jam sesh.
This guys voice reminds me of a song from a old timey playlist i listen to on youtube... the halloween one i think. Maybe they sang a holiday song way back when?
I don't know if this is up my alley. 50's and 60's music is my least favorite time period... im giving it a chance though.
Run Run Run is kinda cool... the beat is nice.
I can see how this shaped the future sound of lots of rock genres, like indie and alt.
So now that this is wrapping up, my inital assesment was correct. I don't think this album is for me but im PRETTYYY sure that i do like a halloween song from this band haha.
My initial reaction to this was EXCITEMENT because I love Frank Ocean. His music has helped me survive some shit. Should be interesting to listen to some of his early work.
Oh man the Sweet Life ending was such a jam. I could have listened to just that instrumental for hours.
Super Rich Kids was a bop... i get how it would be great for a piano bar.
Love the guitar riffs at the end of Pyramids.
Well we're wrapping up and even though I enjoyed my time, I expected more songs to stand out to me than they did. That could be an issue with me though... because Swim Good was so impactful to my life that nothing will ever measure up to that song for me. Overall I enjoyed it and would totally listen again but no songs made the playlist this time.
Again, I feel like I recognize the voice of this person singing but the name Dire Straits means nothing to me. I have a feeling I will like this album though. Its giving pop rock with its first song and I love me some pop rock.
Wow, the words "I want my MTV" are a throwback for sure.
OMG wow.... the f-slur is like a lot... yuck. i get it was a different time but still ew.
Well, walk of life just came on and now i know why i recognize their voices... and i hate this song. I will try and listen objectively... i will say, i always thought he was saying do the walk on by. I guess its good to know its Walk of Life. lol but i still don't like it. Its just way overplayed.
Gotta say, I love a trumpet.
Realized several songs have gone by without me even noticing them.
Well, this was my least favorite album so far... looking forward to whats next though.
The first song to stand out to me is The Beat! Its catchy and jammy. I dont believe I've heard of this artist either. Theyre voice doesn't sound familiar and I believe I already heard their big single before the beat played.
omg well PUMP IT UP just came on and i totally know this song. its a good one too... i added it to the playlist! the second song to make it. which makes me nervous lol do I have bad taste?
hand in hand is also catchy!
okay so after the album ended, it was still just okay. :) but i enjoyed it
was really surprised to see this album is less than 30 mins long
this is a SUPER chill vibe and im loving it so far
okay so this is MAJORLY up my alley! I would def listen to this album again.
I feel like I can see so much of my favorite indie singer songwriter musicians music being inspired by this.
7'oclock news/Silent Night hit really close to home in 2026... hated it but also loved it and teared up a bit.
Never listened to a Bjork album, im sure this is gunna be awesome. She has such a wonderful haunting quality to her style that I love.
Like someone in love is my favorite so far! Love the harp? is that a harp idk haha
wow Big Time Sensuality feels like such a pivot but i totally dig it.
Love the brass in the final song. Was such a fun addition.
Wow, after reading the inital notes, this album sounds like it will be super interesting. Never heard of Talvin Singh.
Traveller felt like sucha journey from start to end. Such a cool song.
Immediately, excited! I live right by Folsom Prison so this album is pretty legendary!
I love that I can hear him talking to the crowd while hes playing. Its awesome they left all that in the recording.
I am continually swept up in hearing him talk to the crowd. I should spend some more time listening to live albums if they're like this!!
LOL dont love the idea of stomping on a dog or shooting him for eating eggs... kinda fucked up yall.
Loved this!!
I mean, I love the movie Labyrinth but have never listened to a Bowie album so this should be interesting. After reading the apple music blurb im very interested in hearing the song heroes!
OHH!! I definitely know this song, Heroes! I didn't know anything about the context and where it was written though.
I find Sense of Doubt very interesting... it has this ominous tone running through it which is kind of how doubting makes you feel, but then every once in awhile, theres an uplifting part. The parts when you stop doubting and become confident in your perceptions.
Good album. Pretty enjoyable and interesting.
Ooooo! I do like the who! I don't think I've ever listened to one of their albums all the way through though.
Dude this is a JAM!1000%
Wow sucha a banger that I barely even made any notes. I loved this so much and tbh if you had asked me an hour ago I would have called myself a classic rock hater.
idk if this was by design but dolly actually passed yesterday. i've never listened to a dolly album because country isn't really my thing but im thrilled to have this selection.
ended up adding a song to the playlist
oh man, i love kendrick lamar! im so excited to listen to this.
this album has been so good i havent even made any notes. cant believe drake was here hahaha!
songs made the playlist and i even cried. sooooo yeah. this was great.
