1001 Albums Summary

Day 1 and possibly already given my favourite album of all time (certainly top 5). Surely only downhill from here…? Really hoping a new discovery is out there to challenge this one.

Some bangers on here, but I thought that largely the well known singles were the standout tracks. Solid.

Tried, but still don’t get the fuss with The Doors. Not for me.

Flawless

Should be 5* just for Heaven alone, but not quite in the proper big leagues. Enjoyed revisiting.

Never gave this album much time amidst their previous records, but enjoyed spending more time with it.

Still stands up so well, although a few tracks feel slightly twee these days. Very enjoyable.

Singles by far and away the best tracks on the album.

Brilliantly mismatched songs and a few of the greatest hits from their entire catalogue.

Brilliant follow-up to Born To Run

Every time takes me back to 11yr old me listening to this in the car. Loved “She’s Electric” back then. No track feels wasted listening again now. Not a huge fan of “Hey Now” but otherwise every song feels classic.

Few decent songs but the strength doesn’t necessarily equal the sum of its parts.

Hard to fault and impossible not to impulsively dance to. Don’t love the last track “The Overload” but otherwise excellent throughout.
