1001 Albums Summary

Really easy listen. Caught me off-guard with the fact I knew some of the songs, had no idea based on the cover/name. Enjoyable and one I can see myself returning to. Especially good if I was reading / doing something else I think.

Why do I feel the need to host more dinner parties... Unexpected and enjoyable 5 track album outside of my usual wheelhouse.

Whatever I thought The Rolling Stones sounded like, this album was not it. Aside from opening with Gimme Shelter, the range of sound surprised me. Not all quite to my liking, or, maybe seeming out of place. It was an album that I struggled to listen to get into after the strong opener, but once the momentum built (Let It Bleed and especially Midnight Rambler), I had a good time with it overall. Glad to have listened.

I have been wanting to check out A Tribe Called Quest for so long and just never quite got around to it. This is where this list really appeals to me - what an album. Enjoyed all my time with this one and will absolutely return. I am very much in a discovery state for hip-hop and it only feels right that this was an early stop for me. What a great album.
