1001 Albums Summary

This one didn’t appeal to me a whole lot, on account of the long yet repetitive songs. I felt like it had a lot of “3-minute song ideas” stretched out to 5-7 minutes. The very 80’s synth instrumentation gave the album a very dated sound that I often found kinda grating. Favorite songs were “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” & “Head over Heels”, and I think the vocal melodies helped elevate those songs in my mind. I think it’s decent overall, but I wouldn’t really come back to listen to most of it.

I like the lyrical delivery & rhythmic instrumentation, but the lyrical subject matter felt too same-y across the album.

Very listenable all the way through, I liked the singer’s voice & the instrumentals. Felt 80’s without feeling too dated. Favorite songs were “Rio”, “Hungry Like the Wolf”, and “Lonely in Your Nightmare”

Very enjoyable to listen to. Cash has a great voice & the guitar work compliments it well. While I do like the live concert energy, the fact that half the album is just banter between songs kinda diminishes its replay value. Favorite songs: “Wanted Man”, “I Walk the Line”

Very nice album, I really like that kinda nostalgic, jazzy sound. Gonna be listening to this one a lot! Hard to pick a favorite song.

Really great instrumentals, okay lyrics, but the album just ran so long that it all kinda blended together. Hendrix’s guitar playing was obviously amazing, but I also really found myself enjoying the drums on all these tracks.
