1001 Albums Summary

Moments of punk greatness, moments of horribleness (infantile lyrics and themes) and all in 15 minutes. Clearly influenced by The Clash, drummer/drumming the best part of the whole thing.

Great jangle-pop from the 1990s. I am undecided if the off-key singing adds or detracts from very strong melodies. Wins the prize for the most eclectic song titles.

An album I hated as a teenager when it first came out because it was so different from what was the norm at the time, but give credit where credit is due, it is a fantastic debut. Song themes and some of the rhythms are a bit repetitive, but overall very listenable and a great album to relax to. Hang on to Your Love the standout.

Fifty-five years too late. There are gems but it is not Pet Sounds. I am glad it came out, though. Surf’s Up sonically the most interesting.

Perfect album - perfect due to the imperfections.

I love this type of music and it is done well here, but nothing earth-shattering. Ray Charles piano playing always worth a listen.
