oh wooooaaaaaaw this is the kind of thing I was hoping to find on this excursion. An unusual and exotic band, something I have never heard before and instantly have a connection with. I really enjoyed this, and can't understand a word he is singing... but somehow I get it. Isn't music just amazing. gibberish out of 5
Big OOF, this album started out sounding rather generic then by the end it was hard to listen. I don't mind synth music, but nothing about this album is remarkable in anyway. Top 3: lol....
32 tracks...... I can't stand phony over the top singers. But I love a good "Yeah" or yell in the middle of my grooves. Sometimes I feel like this guy is like a caricature of a Rock Genius. But it might be his lyrics, or that voice that is giving me pause. But by the end I was enjoying myself. I really enjoyed the band for sure, will definitely have this on in the background of a BBQ. distortion out of 5
The Rise and Fall is not on spotify, so I listened to the greatest htis. I heard... SKA, pianos, horns a different sound from everything else in the 80's. At times I feel like I hear wallflowers. Did i just find an 80's band to dive deeper into, or am I becoming brain washed.
You've gotta respect how long she has been at it. I have never been through an entire album of hers. I respect the song length, its almost 5 minutes. That is not easy to do as a pop Queen. The music and lyrics just doesn't move me in anyway but I do respect what she has done for music.
I like the semi Lo-Fi vibes. Killas flow def wears me down, hes only got one sound and speed. Top 3 songs Shakey Boy, Three Bricks, and the irreverent Kilo 3 out of 5
This was an eclectic sounding record I have to say, from the music to the lyrics. First time ever hearing it. Top 3 Win, Fame, and Can you Hear Me. 3 of 5
I didn't know the Beatles did so many covers. I have always the liked the Beatles and this album definitely sounds like early Beatles to my ear. Top 3 All my Loving, Please Mister Postman, and That's What I Want. 4 of 5
I do like Foo Fighters in small doses, their sound gets a little repetitive for me by the end of the album. That might be more Ghrol's singing than the band, I really like the drummer. I like the band though and enjoyed my time with this album more than most so far on this journey.
Well that was suprising. I enjoyed that album alot. I winced when I saw 1980, never have been a huge fan. I think it helped I had heard covers of these songs previous maybe. Top 3 The Wait, Requiem, Change 4 of 5
i feel like i'm at my local watering in the mid 90's hole waiting for my favorite local band Rosemary Gates, and I'm listening to the opening local act... its fine, yet unremarkable. Its like background music at hot topic. I don't understand how this one and GFK got on here. top 1k? ever? there is no way this was groundbreaking in 93. perhaps its just my boomer sensibilities. top 3.... 1of5
Never been the biggest fan of Queen, but it was interesting to hear how their operatic influences developed in the early years. top 3 Killer Queen, Flick of the Wrist, Lily of the Valley
Probably my favorite album so far on this journey. I liked how many different influences you could hear. I had never heard any of these songs before, and that makes me sad. Will be listening to this again. Top 3: Alternate route to Vulcan Street, Receptacle for the Respectable, [A] Touch Sensitive
Big OOF, this album started out sounding rather generic then by the end it was hard to listen. I don't mind synth music, but nothing about this album is remarkable in anyway. Top 3: lol....
This sounds very of the era to me, perhaps its why its on this list. Its not something I personally would seek out and listen too again. I can appreciate the popy and catchy songs for what they are. Perhaps I am just a simpleton but this album like a few others did not surprise me in anyway. Perhaps I am not understanding the purpose of the list. Top 3 Bye Bye Love, You're all I got Tonight, and Good Times Roll 2of5
I have heard this CD so many times, so I'm a bit biased. I love this album, i love the vibe, these bass and drum grooves are so good it is just awe inspiring. There are very few albums that can send me away for an hour this is one of them. You can't...not just relax and chill out when you hear this album. Love, God, Friendship, Life, Growing Up thoughtfully expressed expertly, what more do you want in an album. It's a shame this is her only album. Top 3: Killing me softly, Can't take my eyes off of you, Hurts so bad. 5 out of 5
Now I need to watch Scott Pilgrim vs the World. rock out of 5
Ahhh, the 60's I was spoon fed this stuff all of my childhood. I enjoyed the listen but it didn't stand out to me in anyway. 3 of 5
This is one of my favorite albums I have discovered so far. Its not an everyday listen, I will have to be in the mood for it. But for sure I will be listening again, and again, and again. Dat Drummer be Crazy. drums out of 5
OOOOOOOOFFF a classic, voice gets a little annoying by the end though. rock out of 5
It was fine, I liked it a little better than PJ Harvey. I didn't find the music special in anyway. I suppose that has been the point, there are genre defining albums. I certainly found other albums from this era superior. meh out of 5
Smoke on the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaater. It was fine, again it didn't stand out to me in anyway. indifference out of 5
Perhaps the first album of this challenge that may lead me to listening to the entire discography of the artist. Reminds me of so many Indy pop bands that I love. Cassino, Fleet Foxes, Local Natives, Now Now, Good Ole War, Arkells, Hey Hey My My, The Lighthouse and the Whaler, Gem Club, Pinegrove flannel out of 5
I had not been though this album I enjoyed it a great deal. It sounds like the Beatles but more.... grown up or modern. The songs are not nearly as catchy as some of the other albums but still has that "Beatles" sound. submarines out of 5
I know some songs from the Doors, but have never been through an entire album in one sitting. I enjoyed it but it was nothing to write home about. croon out of 5
I'm not gonna lie... hairband music triggers me 8 out of 10 times. Its not them its me, people love this band. But I really don't like it. I am not into the theatricality of it, the hair, the makeup, the "glamor", the tight pants, and the moderate tempo with a giant splashy snare. I acknowledge this is a band that changed Rock, and are talented musicians... just not in a way I vibe with. Shout out to eruption's guitar solo, it sure sounds like it was hard to do, and its sure hard not press fast forward. I think most of all its the lack of groove, this music never gets my body moving. glam out of 5

Well that was relaxing. happy places out of 5
Not at all what I was expecting when it said metal album. confusion out of 5
I mean.... it was an interesting listen that is for sure. Very interesting blend of pop and Island and.... 80's. One of the most unique in this journey so far. weird out of 5
I mean, at this point we all knew this was coming, I'm not a fan of hair bands but Aerosmith did it better than most, they seem to have a bit more groove and funk to them. certainly more so than Van Halen who we had last week. scarves and botox out of 5
I mean its Bob Dylan isn't it. Exactly what I thought it would be, but less annoying on a whole playthrough that I was anticipating. I don't love it or hate it. Bob Bylan out of 5

I didn't mind this, but I still would change the channel I think if it was on the radio. its 2.5 stars for me but ill give it three because its one of the more different sounding 80's albums I have heard.
How many Bowie Albums are on this list, you would think that hes the greatest singer of all time........ really?!?! I continue to struggle this ... apparent brilliance.
...80's... My struggle to appreciate it continues and this album did nothing to bring me closer to enlightenment. This dudes melodies are just.... non existent. This is up there with some of the worst we have heard yet to my ears.
Well this is something I have not heard before, its not ska, its not big band. Its got that really 80's over the top theatric voice that I can never get into. But I enjoyed the listen from a new experience stand point. This might be the most interesting music made in the 80's that we have heard so far. trumpets and falsetto out of 5
15 songs, 35 minute run time.... its like music ADHD. It is one of those albums that informed all the other albums in the punk genre moving forward... forever. It was over before I could work up a sweat.... to bad I really was enjoying the ride. Punk Rock out of 5
You know, these nasally folk artists can be tough to listen all the way through for yours truly. I really enjoyed the vibe of the album from start to finish, I try to absorb the scene being painted for me. And eventually the nose faded away and I just relaxed into it.
The man can play and sing, and his music is almost instantly recognizable. I respect it, just don't love as much as his fans.
The Rise and Fall is not on spotify, so I listened to the greatest htis. I heard... SKA, pianos, horns a different sound from everything else in the 80's. At times I feel like I hear wallflowers. Did i just find an 80's band to dive deeper into, or am I becoming brain washed.
Yep.... Still not a Bowie guy, maybe after this list makes me listen to the entire discography it will click with me. tesla out of 5
Its was aight, I have never been all the way through a Missy Album, same problem as most rappers, they sticking to the same 5 subjects.
Sounds like an audition tape for a Beatles Act in Vegas. I am starting to think I have terrible taste in music. All of these "100 most influential albums" are like... nails on a chalkboard to my ears. The live recorded, and intimate vibe is cool and different. nasal flat vocals out of 5
I didn't realize they had a banjo player! I didn't mind my time with the eagles, I found it relaxing and laid back, not bad working music at all. Is this the first 70's album I can enjoy all the way through?!?!?
They def got a certain vibe in this record. You can certainly hear its influence in many songs over the years. I feel like i need to be in a bar to listen to it.... is that weird.
You've gotta respect how long she has been at it. I have never been through an entire album of hers. I respect the song length, its almost 5 minutes. That is not easy to do as a pop Queen. The music and lyrics just doesn't move me in anyway but I do respect what she has done for music.
Yeah, its Beatles, and yeah its good. We already knew that. Duh out of 5
less cringe than I was expecting, still not a fan of 80's rock. bland out of 5
I mean... its Janes Addiction. tight pants out of 5
Never got into Prince, the mix is not doing him any favors, interestingly I prefer my prince live much better. But I gotta respect the swag, and diverse sound of the band. falseto out of 5
I mean... its relaxing, not sure how much I care about riding a Llama. no drums out of 5
OMG a 90's album, I didn't think it was going to happen. I have never head this before.... not sure I need to again. Its more interesting than most of the stuff we have been feed so far. The only thing I think when I listen to this is... Beastie boys instrumentals do it better. meh out of 5
